Im 100% sure you chopped too early, but to answer your question, trim the sugar fan leaves 1/2 way or 3/4 wy.. Be careful not to cut up buds i dont trim until dry because i live in a dry state but in a humid area its better to trim first so it dries faster and doesnt mold
