a good start is a 4x4ft tent with a 600w hps lamp now they have LEC lighting which is 315w or 630w, if you have the funds I see good results on photos I wouldn't really recommend led; some people do but they have $900 for a light, it's more fudging around than growing if you ask me the basement...

There is no way around this except pulling in fresh air from outside. Even a clean dry basement will leave it's smell all on your bud. nasty and a waste of time and money otherwise

I have chopped for less important reasons. I see some orange hairs which is another indicator of ripeness along with trich color. I would chop if your risking being discovered because of smell. keep in mind drying will smell too and trying to hide it without a carbon filter it might give you...

check when your area experiences 12light /12dark outside and see if you have 8+weeks before frost i wouldn't put them in and out everyday it seems like too big a chore plus you'll bring bugs in, not sure if this is what you mean size is OK, 36 hours dark I have only heard of at end before harvest

These plants are real nice. I don't think there is an issue. I grew the same looking strain. The leaves get dark green, then rust, then you harvest

If the water warms it becomes what is called hyperoxygenated this makes more oxygen available. Cold water holds more oxygen, when it warms, it lets off oxygen eventually but remains hyperoxygenated for a time.
