In rich dirt. No added calmag.
Tap 390-440>RO 15>cut with rejected water to 90-100>fertilize and ph to 200-400 depending on what the plant says.
It's working really well so far.
Someone just posted a pdf from Cree about horticultural leds vs hps. It claims that 15% of the light from an hps is emitted as IR. I see lots of posts about cobs being supplemented but never with Infrared.
That can't be healthy. Any sane person would rather have that energy directed at red or...
Hmm, are there constant voltage drivers that are wired up in series? I guess I'm just used to the ones cobkits.com sells that are wired up in parallel.
I don't have a Cree to compare to but I did compare the cxm to a citizen 1212 3500k 90cri on a phone app. Of course this is a very unscientific test. It showed that the cxm was very slightly more efficient at 54 watts than the citizen is at 25 which lines up very well with what he has claimed so...
If I can max out the intensity of light without having to use AC I'll be happy. People talk about grams per watt and you rarely see them include air conditioning into that measument.
This measument doesn't even include the initial investment and installation, maintenance, ability or...
Just wondering how much weight can be given to the side by side, if the plants all had different rooms I wouldn't give it much credit. Since they are all in the same room I find your results very interesting, any problems you are having are manifesting on the cobs last.
I'm so glad I went with...
These particular drivers must be wired in parallel.
The stronger driver is close to too much light without perfect conditions, but you could always turn it down.
The weaker driver will put out over 1/3 more light than what I am (currently) running and I am experiencing vigorous growth.
In a grid, 3x3. The driver with 5 cobs covering the center, the driver with 4 cobs covering the corners.
And you are not overthinking, it's that people don't realize how efficient these are at low wattages.
You ain't a kidding, I am playing continual catch up in my space. I currently am running 430 watts into 8 cxms in about 18 square feet, a situation that is in the process of being rectified, and the plants have not shown a want for light.
2 hlg-120 48a's will get you about 30 watts a sq/ft.
2 hlg-185-48a's will get you about 43 watts a sq/ft.
You can run any number of cobs on these. 9cobs would also work in your situation, 5 on one and 4 on the other to cover the corners. Both drivers would be very efficient.
If you really...
Reporting back on my lime green situation. I changed nothing and the plants have darkened up nicely as I near the end of the stretch. The bigger older plants are so green that I am going to back off on nutrients for a little bit on them.
Now I don't know any better so take this with a grain of...
