Well, if it's exciting now-----better fasten your seat belt.
500 ppm nutes--- it's always good to specify the conversion scale for you ppm meter. For 11 days your plants look happy. I'd keep running where you are ppm and ph wise, move up gradually and watch for burning on the leaf tips.
71F...
1) What is your ppm / EC and Ph and temp of your nutes?
2) starting water ppm /ec?
Are you using those coco organic sleves? If so----I suggest not ----organics and water culture don't belong in the same sentence.
I hate rock wool ------for starting seeds you can use vermiculite filled cups...
Measured the foot candle loss (intensity) with glass in a reflector compared to no glass.
Measured directly below the bulb (1K hps hortilux) without glass 18" is 10,000 foot candles (fc) which is the maximum sunlight intensity in my hood.
With the glass 16" is 10,000 fc.
Sooooo, is it worth...
Cal-mag is required If running RO water otherwise deficiency shows up as "rust" spots on the leaves.
If using well or city tap just depends how much is present.
Never needed / used Silica.
Never needed / used Clearex.
You don't need the grow product.
For my medium less aero (spray and...
Nice Jiji,
I guess around 60 days veg time for those POTatoes?
Are you using any medium?
What size root chambers?
Grams per watt?
What contributed to unwanted stress?
A~~~
End caps----Check this place out AquaticEcoSystems lots of great toys and a very nice free catalog with lots of tech talk about pumps and such. looks like a 6" cap cost 15.45 ea.

I'm pretty sure you know my solution to that problem.
If you're planning to continue running that configuration----one possible way to access the tube ends (get your hand / arm in) replace your end caps that (I assume) are glued on with rubber end caps that's pretty easy to remove.
I agree...
Careful -----I once had a chic at a convenience store say "you smell yummy" and just grinned. Wasn't cologne either.:-D
Can you take the ends off your tubes?
A~~~
Pat yourself on the back and say "self, well done".
I can only imagine how good it smells in there.
Is your ppm meter .7 conversion?
I don't envy you getting those roots out of those holes.
Again, nice job.

Hey Budley,
Yes, of course, it's good practice to have nute cooling capabilities------especially with higher room temps (summer).
I ran without chillers for several years-----simply because I could without issues (or just lucky). However; my best grows were always during the winter (NC and...
If referring to the UVON ozone?----yes works well except if it dies or the power goes out-----but I guess that problem exists with carbon filters also.
Exhaust blowers on 24/7.
To each his own----but running multiple strains can really complicate things.

Hey Budley,
I think your root problem was initiated by some other factor and perhaps you nute chamber temp at > 72F made it worse.
And this is why I think so------I've run nutes in the mid 70s for years with only base nutes (GH and advanced).
I know you've seen my journal, so I'll spare the...
I run an Iwaki pump model MD 40 inline for my chiller. See link below.

Reason for my question #2-----If your assumption is the feed schedule of different stages of growth is absolutely required----IMO, NO.
So I ran this experiment-----link...
Suggestions:
1) Get those heat generating pumps out of the liquid you're cooling----inline pumps.
2) Eliminate medium, except for starting seed-----instead use mechanical plant support / trellis.
Question:
Ever used the same nute mix for veg and flower (after around 18" tall)?
A~~~
WOW! Those are some beautiful plants you have there S. My favorite pic is the 3rd from right (worthy of a weed rag cover).
Are you saying 40 plants under a 400W MH?
Cheers,
A~~~
Hey S,
Thanks for the pic. Those plants look happy----except for that midget.
Seems I remember someone saying "soil----never again" :) What happened?
Bummer about the boy population. What's your opinion about fem seed? The only fem strain I've ever grown is Critical Kush I got through...
