Latest UVA vs UVB cannabinoid test results

Little update on the highlights with the arcadia uvb bulb. Sorry for the blurry pic of the whole tent, snapped em right before lights went out on me. Figured I'd just throw a couple updates on it in case anyone was interested. The top of the bigger plant definitely stressed a little bit more...

    bodhi seeds

Beautiful plants as always sir. Love your style of growing, along with others doing the organic thing, gives me something to strive for one day. Just mixed up some new soil for some comfrey crowns I'll hopefully be ordering this weekend. Really looking forward to adding using the comfrey all...

Certain plants more susceptible to light stress?

I feel like I'm a professional at regurgitating things I've read while having little to no experience, so I apologize if what I've said is off base. Do you supplement ir and uv or is it built into your main light?

Certain plants more susceptible to light stress?

Again no expert, but I believe it has to do with the lack of ir in the led spectrum that causes to leaf surface temp to be lower under leds than hids. So raising ambient temps in the grow area helps to get the plants in that ideal range for transpiration. I'd suggest reading through or posting...

Certain plants more susceptible to light stress?

No expert, but those temps seem a bit low for leds. I dont follow the vpd chart at all and only use a clip and extraction fan to control environment, but I think my plants seem happiest around 80-83 for temps. Maybe search through the led threads for some good info on environmental ranges more...

    insect frass?

I noticed a huge increase of spring tails (the "lice" I was referring too in my previous post) and sow bugs mainly when I started using my own homemade compost from outdoor yardwaste as the bedding in my worm bins. I had seen them in the bins and soil before using that compost, but they...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I'm not the most handy individual so that's why I just grabbed some sinks, but I feel the same about leaving them bare. Everything led I've used so far has been running them really soft so not so much worried about heat, but still scared structurally about just framing them bare. I did grab a...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Did you buy individual heatsinks for them or are you running them bare? I grabbed three as well on the sale and also one double heatsink and one single for them. Wish I would've skipped the double heatsink or got all singles for more flexibility, but curious what others are running them at...

Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

Do you plant straight into the mix containing the black kow right away or do you let it "cook" a bit before planting? I just grabbed 8 bags and plan on mixing up a lot of fresh soil this weekend, but dont want to order my comfrey crowns before the soil is actually ready to go.

    Dry amendments in tea

There's a lot of people around here that have me sold on just adding the dry amendments as a top dress instead of making a tea out of them. I have used things like alfalfa and kelp in a standard ewc/molasses tea before, but it's been a long time since I brewed any sort of tea to be honest. The...

    insect frass?

I was showing a buddy my tote grow the other day and he tripped out when he saw all the "lice" become visible and active on the soil after I watered. I just smiled and told him those "lice" are the secret weapon. I know worms and their castings are seen as the gold standard for life in the soil...

    Base mix question

Never used BioBiz anything, but I would just replace it with more peat/compost/perlite yourself. If you already have it, then use it by all means, but in my opinion there's no point in going out and purchasing it as I'm sure its essentially just peat/perlite (checked their site and couldn't find...

Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

Nice, I'll have to check this site out if strictlymedicinals.com cant supply some crowns when I go to order. Trying to keep the price down a little and strictly medicinals has 20 crowns for $60, but appreciate that link as I may need to try a "round 2" as I'm sure I'll have a few issues. Plus...

    bodhi seeds

More cowbells still plugging along. Both planted same time and went into the same 17ish gallon tote on the same day. Definitely some difference between the two phenos, but one completely dominating the 2x2.5ft tent. Will definitely have to let the smaller plant go longer as it seems to be at...

is UV light ok for organics? And supplementary lighting questions.

I'm using a 24 watt 6%uvb arcadia bulb for the first time this grow. I've been running it on the same timer as the main lights since about day 10 of veg. I definitely let it get a bit close to the top cola, but all in all things look good to me. I'm new to uvb and also pretty inexperienced...

    $2 f-series strips

How many strips are you looking to buy? If you were able to order the strips in sets of 20, you could get the gen3 bridgelux for right around that same $5 a piece and they are a bit more efficient. Plus you could spend just a few dollars more and get the gen3 strips in 90cri option as well which...

Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

I'm getting ready to buy some comfrey root crowns pretty soon. Just need to get some 20 gallon pots and some soil mixed up for them first. I'm hoping to get a lot of biomass from them once they get established, but I've never grown them outdoors before so really not too sure how it will all go...

Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

Never made an fpj so no experience with it, but I read that coots quote as not to let a yarrow tea ferment which is a whole different thing than making fpj out of yarrow. Just how I read the coots quote though, could be off here. I am looking forward to doing my own ferments sometime this year...

Latest UVA vs UVB cannabinoid test results

Thanks for putting in the leg work and doing the testing for all of us. Looked at some pictures from an old grow using just the original highlight uv boards vs this grow where I used the 6% arcadia full cycle the whole grow (I think actually started it 10ish days from sprout). Plenty of...

    Grow-A-Long with Dick

Thought I'd throw update on my two girls. Both bodhi more cowbells around 5-6 weeks in now. Threw some fresh ewc and a little topdress down again a week ago. One plant definitely dominating, but excited to see them finish up. I always say next grow I'll train and try to keep things a bit cleaner...
