Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Haven't been looking around much but did notice this hlg-480h-30b https://www.arrow.com/en/products/hlg-480h-30b/mean-well-enterprises for super cheap on arrow and it got me thinking about whether this would be a viable option for something like the bridgelux strips that run at +/- 20 volts...

    A ? for HLG Diablo 200 users

You can for sure dim that light down under 200 watts without issue. That said, I don't own the diablo 200 kit but have a few meanwell xlg-xxx-a drivers that I run well below their max output with different boards/strips and no issues. Like others said earlier, there's a small plug on the...

    modular overkill led striplight build

Long time lurker of this thread, really enjoy following along with your grows. Glad to see you enjoying the soil/ewc route as well. Not sure if you've looked into it or I missed it, but maybe check out starting your own worm bin and produce your own fresh worm castings. Bins are easy to set up...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Much more knowledgeable people than myself in this thread, but personally I would go with the qb288 in there. With limited height like that, you'll be able to get the plants closer to the light and probably much better spread that way. Havent been on hlg's site in a bit, but maybe check around...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Just saw that a few different Delta LNE drivers are back under $20. The 24v 100 watt driver is at like $10 also. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone was looking for some cheaper drivers again. Take care and hope someone can put some of these to use...

Coco Based No-till Living Soil Recipe Help??

I like that you are kind of going off the beaten path. Hopefully you will keep updating and we can all learn a little. I think your use of bio char should help with retaining nutrients along with the basalt, from what I've read at least. Again just my two cents and good luck. Edit: worst case...

Coco Based No-till Living Soil Recipe Help??

Only time I've ever used coco was in a worm bin for bedding but the worms thrived and seemed to produce some full of life vermicompost. That said, if the worms liked it, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to grow some plants in it. Might not act/deliver nutrients the same was as a purely peat...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Anybody using Seoul strips? I thought these looked like a good price at a little over $4. https://www.futureelectronics.com/p/Led-lighting-components--led-lighting--led-Modules--mid-power-led-modules--linear-mid-power-led-modules/smjd-3618072c-xxn100d06g038all-seoul-semiconductor-6108651 Not...

First soil grow, need help with bennies

I think my fresh ewc from the worm bins is the only reason my plants grow. I make all sorts of errors, but some fresh ewc and proper watering techniques fixes it up. I'd highly recommend getting one going. Worm bins are easy/relatively cheap to set up yourself with just a couple totes. Lots of...

Does Anyone Just Use Peat Moss to Grow In?

Haha, a swarm of predators is always nice to have on your side. When I first set up my newer bins a few crickets made it in. Took a couple days the find them all, bit some sounds of nature were nice in the apartment while they lasted.

Does Anyone Just Use Peat Moss to Grow In?

I feel the same way. I have no clue if everything, bugs and all, from the outdoor compost I made was the best bedding for my worm bins but I still used it. I love having permanent springtails and sow bugs in there now. Just different kinds of helpers to the process. I keep meaning to try and...

Does Anyone Just Use Peat Moss to Grow In?

I would be more concerned about the microbial life in the compost/ewc than it's nutrient profile. I've always subscribed to the compost being the heart of the soil. I consider my ewc a fix all cure and I have no clue of their npk. I imagine they would test through the roof on all sorts of things...

    What about lm301b and cree3590

I think you're on a better track following what @MedicinalMyA$$ suggested above very nicely. I have no experience using the bridgelux strips but purchased some a while back, just haven't got around to using/building yet. Not sure what your budget is or where you are located but you could maybe...

    Peat Moss+ EWC (Soil Analysis)

Maybe @MustangStudFarm could chime in as I remember he was on a quest about raising MN a while back. I may have seen him post under a different name, but hopefully he sees this and can offer some experiences.

    Calcium question.

Not an expert here, but your thought process makes sense to me. I don't think there is any way to tell exactly what's in the compost without testing it, so maybe going half on the oyster would be a good starting point. I like to think that the microbes will sort things out as long as all things...

    220w qb and auto flowers

I just took a quick glance at their site, but that light seems pretty overpriced at $400 for 220 watts. I'm no expert on anything, just my two cents that you should at least shop around a little instead of buying into a complete kit. At least the light aspect as you can for sure get better...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Saw some of these drivers have dropped in price again, hopefully only a matter of time before some more viable voltage options drop as well. Some 12v and 36v drivers just under $20 right now is all I see. I did see some 48v drivers for just under $20 as well the other day, but ill try to keep an...
