    Shoot for at least 20% run off. Once you start feeding daily it won't take much to achieve that. I just pour until it comes out the bottom. I grow in 2 gallon pots and feed 1/2 gallon twice a day for each plant.

    You'll be able to maintain the proper moisture level by starting in a small pot. Perlite added to the soil will improve aeration in the root zone and allow for faster growth........roots need oxygen. These are 2 weeks from sprout. Good luck and welcome to RIU.

    You're treating your coco like soil........coco is hydroponics. Feed daily to substantial run off. Never use plain water and never, ever let the coco dry.     Obviously they are rotting. Ditch the paper towel and those domes. May I suggest another method? Start them in rapid rooters.

    I always rinse and buffer my coco. Rinse with tap water then let it sit overnight in a calmag solution. Don't rinse after you soak in the calmag solution......it will wash out the calmag pre charge and defeat the purpose.
