Shoot for at least 20% run off. Once you start feeding daily it won't take much to achieve that. I just pour until it comes out the bottom. I grow in 2 gallon pots and feed 1/2 gallon twice a day for each plant.

Coco holds 30% oxygen even when totally saturated. As long as the roots are established you can't overwater. You'll never get root rot in coco as long as you feed daily and have good drainage. Your fabric pots should be elevated. This is a great place to learn the basics of coco ...

You won't get a reply.........the OP hasn't been around for 13 years. That being said.........you have a bug infestation.

You'll be able to maintain the proper moisture level by starting in a small pot. Perlite added to the soil will improve aeration in the root zone and allow for faster growth........roots need oxygen. These are 2 weeks from sprout. Good luck and welcome to RIU.

You're treating your coco like soil........coco is hydroponics. Feed daily to substantial run off. Never use plain water and never, ever let the coco dry. Do this and your plants will straighten out. Contrary to what one of the above posters claimed........a full grown plant in coco cannot be...

I repeat........ditch the domes.

Obviously they are rotting. Ditch the paper towel and those domes. May I suggest another method? Start them in rapid rooters.

What is your feeding schedule?

You might consider transplanting and burying half the stem.

I always rinse and buffer my coco. Rinse with tap water then let it sit overnight in a calmag solution. Don't rinse after you soak in the calmag solution......it will wash out the calmag pre charge and defeat the purpose.

Calcium deficiencies are usually, but not always, caused by too low pH.

What's your water temp and pH?
