I put them in amber glass jars with the orange silica gel desiccants beads. Seeds need to be protected from light, temps and moisture. Store them in the frig. I've read where some will use a few rice grains rather than the silica gel desiccants.

No, the fan won't cause damage like that unless the blades of the fan actually hit the leaves.

You've got thrips. You need to act fast but they're pretty easy to kill using Spinosad. Two popular brands are Monterey Gardens Spinosad and Captain Jacks Spinosad. Both are organic.

Broad mites can cause the new growth to twist like that. I hope it's not but I would take a good look with 100x magnification or better. Is it primarily the new growth that's twisting and have you seen any pests or pests damage?
