I've always got fastest plant growth by getting a root ball started before putting them in big pots I use party cups first then go to 4 gallon. But I'm not criticizing just curious.

Why In the world would you put fresh rooted seeds in such big pots?

Might take a little longer to root but you should be good.

All I use is fabric pots. I Never cut a pot open I just press around all the sides of the pot to loosen it up a bit and they usually come right out. I always put a little water on them to help keep the medium together.

Not sure how accurate it is but I downloaded a par meter app from the Google play store. I don't have anything to test against it to see the accuracy of it.
