Hi all, I am running a DFT system and was away for a weekend. I've come back and my pump was off and the plants have soaked up all of the water that was sitting in the tray (about an inch or 2). Some leaves have gone brown/crunchy around the edges, most of the others have started yellowing...

I turned into a drain to waste system I haven't got any coco so still using the hydroton... The runoff collects in the bottom chamber, and can be collected and re used. My reservoir is hooked up to drip lines and a timer. All seems to be well thankyou for all the advice it was a big help.

This is my dft system I'm using atm, I'm going to make a few modifications next time such as a lid for net pots to sit directly in so the roots can hang free lol. The res is directly underneath. I was thinking about maybe trying to replicate it but I'm not sure if I have the parts or if it's...

Hi guys sorry been busy all day, the tub on top of another with a pump in I was doing that but my pump heated up my water and that was causing the issue.. That was literally the system I was using! Id have to keep the pump on 24/7 for it to work.

I like this idea tbh, only thing Is the light getting to the roots....

Also should I sit the bags in something to catch the runoff? Thanks.

When you say put it in a bag, do you mean lift the pot into the bag and add hydroton? Or do I have to buy some coco... I can't see myself getting the plant out of the pot without destroying the roots.

I have a couple of 25L buckets I could fill with coco but then wouldn't drainage be a problem? Thanks

When you say Bury them in coco... Bury the pots in coco?

Hi all, these plants were in a diy system and long story short it didn't work.... It would be a shame to throw them away. I put the pots with roots hanging out the bottom in a water tight container added some water and hydroton so they don't dry out. They seem to be okay for now... What...

I have got some ph 6.0 water in a spray bottle, do you think that would help or do harm?

I don't have any of that to hand, the calmag bottle said 1ml per L should've just read the back! I put not even half that in when I mixed in my nutes :wall: I just added another 15 ml so will see how it goes.... I didn't realize how import calcium and Magnesium actually was :?: Live and learn...

They looked well under watered 2 days ago, they were clawing, one or two leaves wilted and looked as if they were overwatered, I'm not sure whether that could've caused it. The system change should have sorted that out tho, maybe they still need time to recover? Underwaterings a new one to me...
