Thanks for the response. I'm using subculture B & M. I was dealing with root rot issues and never could get the beneficials to take to the roots. If you let the tap water sit for 6 hours, does the chlorine eventually evaporate or something? I have a 18gal rubbermaid filled with filtered water...

The excessive darkness will cause them more stress and a buildup of hormones, making it harder for them to recover from the cutting stress.

I wouldn't step it down, as there is no reason to worry about the plant's hormone levels (unless you are re-vegging). I always give 48-72 hrs of pure darkness before harvest. Seems to work well enough.

A little birdie told me that it's hard to tell the color of the trichomes when you take photos under a red spectrum light ;) And the color of the hairs, jeez. That is a really red light.

Missing option: T5 H-O Fluorescents.. It's like the middle ground between CFLs and HIDs.. I put my vote down.. silly rabbits, CFLs are for kids. Just joking, CFLs are okay, but I prefer a higher lumen output. If you have the money and/or a larger grow, they're by far the best.

1000w lights are really only helpful during flower, and 2x 1kw running on 12/12 isn't really that expensive. But running a good hydro system with quality nutrients can be money, and it's certainly will take up some serious time.

Ohhh yes. You can definitely add it to the res. 1/2ml per 10gal is fairly mild. Physan 20 can be used in stronger concentrations if you need to sterilize your system or contain a bad algae problem.

You can always set up the filter as a scrubber instead of using it on the exhaust end of your light's ductwork.
