Is Carbon Dust Flammable?

Hi all. Well I built a homemade carbon filter from some info on one of the forums. It has removed any odor pretty good so far. I tried running the filtered air thru my cool tube light then exhausting outside. Unfortunately I have noticed a small amout of what appears to be carbon dust from the activated charcol in the filter. I did use an additional, made from nylons, sock on the outlet of the filter in anticipation of this. Some dust is still getting by though and ending up in my cool tube. I think it may be flammable so Ive shut er down for now. Any comments on this would be appreciated? Thanks and have a good one!

Coal dust Flammable? Actually the proper term would be explosive. Empty coal stores have been the source of many disasters, it’s even now suspected of being the cause of the explosion that sunk the USS Maine in Havana Harbor. That did however provide us with a convenient excuse to declare war on a much weaker country and thus gaining possession of Cuba and The Philippines which is still paying dividends today.

You can always set up the filter as a scrubber instead of using it on the exhaust end of your light's ductwork.
