You need some space above the light or heat will be trapped above the light raising the temperature of the fixture ans possibly damaging your tent as well as shortening the life of your light. you also need air movement near the top of the tent, an extraction fan can help with that or a small...

What size space are you lighting with it? What height do you have? I'm running my 4 board Diablo at 400 watts and it's plenty in a 4x4 space. In a 2x4 I'd run that light at 250 watts or less. In a 4x4 I'd run it full power. That 3 board light is the equivalent of almost 7 QB 288! You want a PPF...

New organic grow under my DIY Diablo light. 30 Gallon pot with a Green Poison XXL auto. The other plant is in there temporarily. Just couldn't justify 400 watts for a seedling lol!
