How about a Hawian Punch?!

Here are the latest pics. It's going Ok. Alot of room left to fill :P...

Plant one and two are developing pretty strong stems- both females. The others are still developing.

They all seem to be experiencing some stress(some yellowing and even browning at the leave tips) I think it's either heat stress(I've been moving the light up a couple inches a day till it stops-at near 3ft now) or lack of Mg.
And the smallest plants seem to get it the worst- even warping a little.

Any opinions?

The brown usually means nut burn.

Is that insulation that is still wraped around you air duct?

If it is pull that shit off of the air way at alest. if not all the way off.

IF thoes micro fibers from the insulation get on the plant im sure if will fuck its world(maybe why they looked warped).

Think of how isulation makes you itch and shit..... not good (CHEMICALS) and fibers and shit.

Thoese fibers have tons of cancer causing additives too so i would get rid of that shit.

I have used very little nute. about ten days ago i did mix approximately 1 tablespoon of root hormone(4-10-3) with a gallon of water(while recipe calls for 3.5 tblspoon). And light foliar spraying with same mix. One the next watering i also put approx .5 tablespoon of Fox Farm Grow Big----OOPPS which happens to be 1.5 times the amount called for to the gallon!.

Ya so it might have been a mix of nute burn and heat stress. Oh damn- and apparently the Root Stimulator is not supposed to be foliar fed.

I just flushed the plants today and covered all of the insulation so as not to let it affect the plants.

I'm going to wait to till the next watering to feed any addional nute- and half the reccomended usage.

I am watering every 3 days. And foliar spraying with water ONLY every 8-12HRs.

I wonder how often you can foliar feed with nutes? 1x or 6x per day :P

Day 24
24HR
FlushT-1g-5p
68-91F
33%
6.8>

They are looking mighty green. I've been using 3 day aged tap water to flush them this week before i try another nute mix. Despite having an exhaust fan near ceiling and fresh air ducting coming 1 foot from plants I'm finding that the easiest way to maintain the temperature without having my a/c screaming is to just have the door open. And still its a widely varying temp but most of the day its 75-85. Humidity is 30-40% on average with humidifier cranking 24/7(jeez and mostly i read ppl complain of lowering it!) PH Meter I got from pool supply store doesn't go below 6.8- so i always get that reading... but it may be lower. Still some issues to resolve here. but it seems to be working in general.

My goal here is to take these five plants and turn them in a bi-weekly crop. I've been reading on SOG. And it seems that these plants should be the mothers?

HOW LONG SHOULD WAIT BEFORE I TAKE CUTTINGS?
CAN I TAKE CUTTINGS FROM NUTE BURNED LOWER BRANCHED?
SHOULD LEAVES WITH NUTE BURN BE REMOVED AND TRASHED?
IS SHRIVELING AT LEAVE EDGES HEAT/NUTE BURN/ MG DEFICIENCY/OTHER?

you have a 1000wat MH right? what kind of reflector? Does it have a cover over the bulb?(if so take it out)

they look like they are streaching might consider to lower the light they shouldnt be streaching out that much you have so much light!(

And I would add nutes now a small amount there should be a chart on how much you should give a plant at its different stages.

If your goin to grow a perpetual harvest then i would vegg your mums for around a month and a half then they will be huge and you will get tons of clones and i wouldnt every take a cutting with a burnt leaf and use it as a clone

you can get some sissor and chop the brown off and MAKE SURE THE SISSORS ARE STERILE).

remember marry adapts to her enviroment! and the more you stress the better chance you have of turning a female to a hermie or male.

Yep- 1000W HPS with MH Conversion Bulb during Veg. WIll probably get HPS Bulb for Flower. THere is no cover for bulb.

I did have the light lower- But i thought that was causing the burning and twisting of the leaves so i moved it up a lot. it was at over 3ft above the tallest plants. I've moved it to 2.5ft from the tallest plant now- but im kinda nervous...

Sterilized scissor with alcohol and clipped everything off that wasn't green :).

BTW i am reading the Grow Faqs for deficiencys. But i start by thinking the first thing is the problem...and then by the end of it I have three or four that it COULD be... Magnesium, PH fluctuation, Nitrogen, Sulpher, Calcium. etc etc....

Throw in all those possibilities and its too overwhleming to imagine figuring out which is whats causing the problem- LOL

What I still don't understand is.

WHAT IS MAKING SOME LEAVES SHRIVEL?
WHAT IS MAKING SOME LEAVES SPOT(Dark or Light)?
WHAT IS MAKING SOME LEAVES DROOP?

Anyone experienced these same features?

This is just me but if i were you and since you want a perpetual harvest i would go with hydro for sure!

I use all organic nutes in my hydro set up and have had outstanding results! Tast big yield the works everything you could ask for and im freash meat i haven been doing this that long.

The things is your right you dont know what it is cause it could be a shit load of problems and that fucken sucks!

Me never had to deal with that shit but ive always used hydro
i mean you want to grow your shit fast right?

Majority of people i talk to that use soil always have thoes types of problems hear i show you some pics of some 2.5 week shit i grew and you decide!

The shrivling sounds and looks like heat so maybe the light should be moved

and leaves drop and raise thats how she grows go and google or youtube a maryjane in a timelapse vid

the ones on the far right pic are 4 weeks and that trunk is 4 weeks the other 2 are 2.5 weeks

Plants look nice!
When you say 2.5 & 4 week... Is that from seedling/clone/or?

BTW i moved the light down further to about 18 inchs from plant top..
Pics show the result. And also its watering day. *shrugs*
I'm definately open to trying the hydro-

Does it make more sense to continue growing these in soil for mothers and grow clones in hydro- or to transplant?

Mine are from seed!

IT makes since i guess to grow your mothers in soil but why? HYdro is way faster ull amp up your plants times 10 growth!
Look at all your problems there is no reason why your plants should be that dropy have you checked your PPM of your water and your PH??

You could grow your mothers in a water farm(like what i used) and they will love it

I tell you what if you decided to build one ill point out some design flaws that you can fix and your growth will be out of this world

See your babies are in a slow growth they are too busy trying to stay alive that they cant grow fast at all notice all your leaves but the freash sprouts are dropy as hell!

They are perfect size to transplant in a water farm as well you dont even need to take all the soil out (but i do think thats what your problem is your Soil) What type of soil are you using?

Day 30
24HR
¼ nutes
75-85?
35%
6.5in 5.5 out

goin green- i think it was my ph. I got som PH UP n DOWN and a better guage-- the one from the pool store just wasnt cutting it.

Now I am watering with a PH of 6.5 and the water comes out 5.5 from the bottom.

The soil I am using is Jungle something- potting soil. .24-.12-.12

Plus i added perlite, vermiculite, and peat moss.

I will try a hydro setup for clones.. maybe for transplant too. How much should that run at a box store? Know of a good guide? I might be abnle to work on it this weekend.

ANy and all comments welcome. Trying to get all the kinks worked out before i do the clones.

I THINK IM PAST THE NUTE BURN>>>AND WATERING PROBLEMS...

BUT I"M STILL GETTING SOME VERY DRY AND BRITTLE LEAVES>>>AND.. POSSIBLY SOME TWISTING AND BURNING AT LEAVE EDGES.

I've been watering. skipping two days and then watering again on third day. I'm going to try and water on the second day and see if it reduces the dryness...

They look better.

Might want to get some superoxy for the bittle leaves if they dont come out!

Superoxy works great i use it on my house plants and some other plants i grow.

DO NOT GET THAT SHIT ON YOUR HANDS OR YOUR SKIN! shit burns like a motha!

FOR a hydro set up you reall need to decided what you need and go with that

i first built a waterfarm set up and really its only good for one plant unless you know for a fact that all the plants you put in are fem.

I had to learn this the hard way!

but i just built a bubbleponics system so for me in a small space its good but

How many plants
how tall (how long veggie)

Hey man I'm growing some Hawaiian x Master Kush. I have to admit, after looking at your pics I've decided that your plants are the only ones that look like almost exactly like mine. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. I too started from seed about 18 days before you did. I'm a week from flowering.

Ya I think Imma wait for now on the hydro until I see how many females i have. Crazy pic btw goin green. lol.

I think it is about time to switch to a 1 gallon pot. anyone agree/disagree?

Bev I checked out your plants- they do look very similar. Good luck>!

i would recomend syaying with soil untill you know more about nutes. you dont have the same time to fix problems with hydro.
was reading through some of your journal and i would recomend 18/6 light schedule. it will help with heat issues and plants need thier rest. they actualy grow more in night cycle. for a watering schedule i would not only do the 2 inch finger thing but the weight of it to. when you water them feel how heavy the pots are and wwhen you think it`s water time lift the pot and get a feel for the weight. it may be dry on the top because of heat but the bottom will be still wet, ( droopy leaves )
what nutes do you have again?

yeah 18/6 will be good to change to now!

If you can read a ph and feeding tables thats really all you need to know for hydro nutes, espically if you buy a 3 part system.

I'm using Fox Farm Nutes, Grow BIG for Veg and then BIG BLOOM for Flowering.

Ya i may need to stick with soil through this grow. Things are about to get really busy at work. And well... Im cheap if you wanna know the truth of it :D I'm into this for about $700- now that i just bought some Black and White Poly and I want to see some kind of return before I go spending more money wildly. Plus I want to use up all the soil i have :) which i almost accomplished with repotting today. Also I started a lil clone test before i get ready to do the real deal.

Tallest is 15 inches now. I think after they get over the shock of the transfer to bigger pots(a week?) I will send them into flowering so that I can find out how many females I have and then start cloning from those.

how often do you change your water for hydro? I keep about 7 gallons of tap water out chlorine free for watering and now just with five plants it is not going to be enough.... I can imagine what you do for hydro- must be a lot of gallons.?

omg im tired- thats... all i can write but i probably have some questions. I think I am at the point where i could use some critique about plant quality. if anyone would like to give it a shot. :)

some super oxy would be good for a boost when i used it my plants when from dropy and some bad spots to health looking like stars in a way?

Whats the ph of your water and soil?

For hydro it depends on your set up. i didnt change my water farm for a month at a time and you saw the pics they looked healthy.?

This is just a suggestion but what do you think about putting you fan in front of your A/C ?

o and in the first pic it look like your left plants where in the dark not centered under the light?

water ph is about 6.5

Im still getting pretty low readings on the water after it comes OUT of the bottom of the pot. HOw much does that matter? Todays reading were 5, 5.5, a 4! Despite all that i have seen in recent days 1"+ growth in a single day. New growth seems to be moving along nicely...

Ill check out the super roxy and try the fan in front of a/c.

light is on a mover so it moves horizontally and so wont always focus on one plant.(i think this is helping my temps a good bit too.)

How soon do you think flowering makes sense? (i hate to see them slow in growth-lol but i wanna get finished buds too)

the ph needs to be consistant. and you need to know the ppm of run off to see how much the plant is drinking to adjust nute solution and how often you give it. to low of a ph in the run off will cause lock up. add dolomatic lime to soil to raise it.
