It is more about protein. I'm taking a calcium supplement.

So I weighed my self this morning and I'm down 10 pounds in less than 6 days

A dude that works with me goes on a juice diet a couple times a year for 30 days. The first week seems to be the worst from what he says. I go on two or three day fasts whenever I feel like it but three days is max for me. I only drink water and beer. I drink hefeweissen when I fast. I figure if the monks can live on it so can I. It's cool and after day 2, day 3 is easy. After I did it a few times I realized that I needed to change my diet. I cut out everything fast food and kept to the beer and water routine. I haven't had a soda in 3 years or a Big Mac. I don't even miss the shit now. The smell of fast food hamburgers actually makes me nauseous now. I eat like a mo' fo' but mostly at home and without having to diet or watch my weight I have stayed at 220 for 3 years. I learned that it was the garbage food and garbage drinks that were F'ing me up.

i do commend you for doing what you do i usually drink a "smoothie" in the morning composed of vegetables and fruit

the reason this specific brand has more fat is because its meant for vegans which need a higher fat content due to the lifestyle however its good fats compared to bad fats

I've seen people do juicing fasts and it works out well if its done right. I've also seen people just stop eating for a week and he was completely useless after day 5, he had no energy. It sounds like your doing right. You should probably start eating a few days before thanksgiving to get used to eating again.

I pretty much no longer eat fast food after going pescetarian.

I do have taco bell occasionally with bean substitute.

Rarely drink soda. I love cooking I don't get why people say eating healthy is expensive I made a meal that could easily feed 4-5 people for around $5.00 Broccoli Cheddar Mushroom flipsides

I like almond milk. It tastes better than soy milk. Some kinds of soy milk do have more protein, but god do they taste awful.

I think I feel better now than I did when I changed my diet.

I just substituted meat with grain and that was a bad idea. I started gaining weight fast. Trying to get myself where I can maintain it.

When I switched over to strictly eating organic food nearly exactly a year ago, it was obviously much more expensive so I was eating less. That also meant less money spent on bud because I needed it for food, which meant periods of not really having an appetite either. I've never gone on any official fasts, but there were 2-4 days each week in which I would eat significantly less than I normally did. I hated it, but after researching fasting (there are a variety of methods) and caloric restriction, I was pretty satisfied. I started eating organic about a year ago and strictly raw about 5 months ago. I came across one of my old driver's licenses and I would say that I look younger at 21 than I did when I was 18 or 19.

The entire process of purging all of those toxins out of your body typically takes a LONG time. Apparently for every 15 years eating the Standard American Diet, it takes 1 year of detoxing to eliminate all of that junk. I'm recently just starting to notice even more profound benefits and I think it's due to being forced to make more green, superfood smoothies since the price of organic produce not in season is fucking ridiculous ($7 for 1lb. of strawberries ridiculous). I'll take the smoothies, lower prices, and better health benefits all day. I think one of the main key's is nutrient synergy and it's something that's not discussed too much. The idea is out there but most so-called "experts" don't really touch on it in a significant way.

For example, I'll add goji berry extract, camu camu, mangosteen, maqui, purple corn, maca (all superfood powders) coconut sugar, kale, berries, alfalfa sprouts, water, MSM, and avocado oil all in one smoothie. The benefits of all of the nutrients in those foods will far outweigh the benefits than if you were to consume them individually.

You should also try oil pulling with coconut oil. The oil pulls a bunch of toxins from your gums and teeth. You swish for about 15-20 minutes and then spit it out as it is loaded with bacteria and toxic material that you don't want to put right back into your body. Many people don't realize that oral health can significantly impact overall health and that root canals can actually cause chronic diseases because bacteria gets trapped inside the tooth and just keeps multiplying to the point where you now have an endless supply of toxins being sent into your bloodstream.

Honestly he might feel like shit after going back to his previous eating habits which might keep him on the right track! Many people decide to go vegan or raw or fast or whatever for a certain amount of time and when they go back to those foods, they feel dirty and not at ease. Kinda like their body saying "don't even fucking think about it".

well to take it a bit further. I'm more interested in the Vision quests of my ancestors.

Lakota Sioux – Crying for a Dream

The Lakota Sioux word for Vision Quest is Hembleciya (ham-blay-che-ya). The word Hembleciya translates to “Crying for a Dream.” This refers to the “Quester” both physically and internally crying for a Vision or Sacred Dream. Sometimes this ceremony is called “going up on the hill,” because people would often go to a nearby mountain or butte to complete their Vision Quest.

Typically the quest is completed deep in nature, far away from civilization. At times it can be done closer to where people live, but located in a pit dug deep into the ground. The person on the Vision Quest either chooses or is told the location for their Quest. They are also instructed in all preparations and on how many days and nights the quest will last by a Medicine Person (aka Holy Person). This Medicine Person will guide the Quester in all aspects of the ceremony and provide spiritual support and guidance.

Before a Vision Quest is started the Quester is purified in a sweat lodge, often over many days. On the day of the quest they start their fast at sunrise. They also forgo sleep and food. They give up all that it takes to live in the physical world and rely on the strength of spirit to sustain them for the duration of the quest.

The Quester is purified one last time in a sweat lodge ceremony and then taken to the designated place of the quest. There they will stay without food, water or sleep for one to four nights. During this time the person focuses their heart, mind, body, and spirit on the guidance they are seeking. They must overcome their earthly wants and desires and face their human nature to fully receive the Vision.
Upon completion of the Quest they are brought back to a sweat lodge. There, the Quester speaks of his or her experience to a Medicine Person who provides spiritual guidance and interpretation of the Vision. The Medicine Person helps the Quester understand his or her experience.

The Vision that is received will provide guidance to the person for the rest of their life. Some people are called to do many Vision Quests over the course of their lifetime.
Hallucinogenic medicines (such as peyote) will sometimes be used to aid in the quest.
I have fasted many times, and it is very good if you are on a spiritual journey fighting the self which is of this world [the nonspiritual] you will be confronted by the evil spirit but he will depart...by the presence of the master...so do not fear...although it is a scary moment, but after that peaceful, beautiful moments...you must devote yourself meditate on good things...when you end the fast eat very little, clear liquids soft foods for at least 2 days...remember your body functions have not had to operate a while...peace and enjoy.

I'm opting out of my original plan. I now plan to end the fast at the start of day 11.

I'm going to slowly increase my caloric intake and continue to juice at the same time.
