my girlfriend informed me today that: 4 weeks ago I was glad getting 2 240w htg led's lights around 500$, 3 weeks ago I bumped up my thought process to 2 blackstars around $650, 2 weeks ago I decided that I would go with 2x 200w california lightworks solar flare around $800- even emailed the rep and got a discount for my inquiry, this week I decided to go with the hans panel 4 of them actually, I wrote hans spoke to him a little about my grow and asked the price and was quoted about 900$ shipped for 4 panel's. I need to stop reasearching the more I do the more my wallet get's lighter. I only have 1 more paycheck to go before I can afford those han's panel's... hopefully I don't change my mind again...sigh

That's a good deal for 4 hans panels man! your not gonna find any other panel(s) that cover a 4x4 area in flower for $900 shipped and with Osram 660nm! run them at full blast from germination and keep the panels about 8-10inches away until you read the plants signs; then drop it lower to fatten them up.

For the same price (roughly $300) you could pick up a Blackstar or a Hans Panel.
If you save up a bit more (to about $400), you can get a California Light Works Solar Flare.
If it were me, I would save up for the Solar Flare, or grab the Hans Panel.
I have heard from people from RIU that blackstars fail after a year of use, and i can't understand why bother with Hans panel with only 56 watts not to mention that i live in europe and the cost from USA will tear me apart...

You strike me as the type who only asks other people questions to get their answers, instead of doing any research on your own.
Otherwise, you wouldn't have made such a foolish statement, because Hans is located in Europe, so you obviously didn't even look at his website (http://www.bonsaihero.com/ledgrow.html, btw).
You asked for advice on quality LED's, it was dispensed to you, yet you seem to know better.
Which only leads me to ask, why did you ask in the first place, if you already know the answer?
Chill man i was talking about the blackstars and the solar flare, sorry my english are terrible.. I just don't get it with Han's panels with so low wattage, what are they? super leds?

Hello Lopsi. Let me try to explain about Hans' panel, you must first realize that wattage does not indicate the growing potential of an LED panel, it's indicates the cost of running an LED panel. Hans uses some of the most efficient and powerful LEDs one can get. That means his panel's need less watts to produce the same amount of light as a panel using cheaper, less efficient LEDs. Wattage cannot be used to discuss coverage or growing potential like an HPS. 150 watts of CREE diodes, depending on model, will completely blow away 150 watts of some nameless Chinese company's mystery diode. Also highly efficient diodes are worth more and that's why they charge more for them, especially when they are the latest models.
On the other hand one can say you need x amount of watts to cover x amount of space by the same panel or diodes. It's impossible to say that as a blanket statement for all LED panels. Don't get hung up on wattage. There are people in the Beginner's section who think 700 watts of this LED is the same as 700 watts as some other companies LEDs, (Hiya Adjor
). Do yourself a favor and don't be like them. When it comes to LEDs you need to look at different criteria together to tell you a panel's growing potential, especially PAR/PUR output, lumens per watts (efficacy), amperage/voltage, cooling, and a few others. This is why it's important to know what diodes a company uses. Hope this helps you a bit.

Hope this helps you a bit.I understand what you are saying here, so Han's panel is more efficient cause it's powerful diodes, but how efficient is it? It's like you had a 90 or 100 w ufo? It is 180 w (actual wattage 120w) and it is a little more expensive than Han's but draws the double power and read very good things about it. So which one would you prefer? i own a 135 w blackstar already and looking to supplement it. You are saying that Han's panel can beat this one?

I just wanted to be as clear as possible so you'd understand what FranJan and I were saying.Wow ok got it.. Wowow man really? Does anyone else know that?If you could compare it with an hps bulb... which hps bulb could you replace with Han's?
If I could compare Han's panel to an HPS light, I would probably say it could easily replace a 150W HPS, maybe more.
I realize 56W's doesn't sound like much, but look at how bright these panels are, and the quality of growth.

I believe it is a chinease Houyi light 4x75w COB with 175w draw. This will compliment my Agromax pro210 (bought used for $200) in a 4x2x7 gorilla tent. This is my flower tent. The Agro footprint feels like 2x2 which is fine for two plants (3gallon) but I hope w the added new light I will be able to cover 4 plants. I have an old style 240w in a separate tent for veg. If I had the cash I would like to have area51 lights or CLW but wanted to leverage what I had. I'm also interested to see how the COB lights perform. I also looked closely at the new COB Bysen but they wanted $440 for it. Will let you know how it goes.

Still i have to ask... So Han's panels use cree leds and high quality diodes, has 56 w actual.. and costs 200 euro, shipping costs included. You forgot to add in the price of socket / moguls and maybe Y splitters if having more than one bulb per mogul.
Hans uses 4 Cree XBD Royal Blue, 17 Cree XBD 701 Red, 2 Cree XBD White and 10 Osram LH-CPDP DeepRed Rebel Led's. Less watts and a 2 year warranty
The globes use x-te high voltage. Warm white and neutral white a 10 year warranty.
Captain also uses a $130 IR flood light, and a t5 uvb $40 bulb and $20 fixture
For leds, x-te'sand Imo have the best spectrum for growing.. The cree globes were never meant for growing. Ironically they use grow leds in them. I would go with cree globes too. vert style. I will be too eventually
