If you reversed the races of Zimmerman and Trayvon, this would be a classic example of a Jim Crow prosecution of an innocent black man being persecuted by the state.
I agree, except that IMO, this is even worse because the current administration is seemingly behind this fiasco.

Where are the grownups in this administration?

A legal analyst I am watching (http://www.wftv.com/s/zimmerman-livestream/) gave his opinion of BLDR's closing argument. He was not impressed: "lots of emotion, little fact...", "misstated several of the facts...". Who knows how it went over with the jury, though.

I am still going with a hung jury.
I agree. More than likely a hung jury because I'm sure that one of those women went in there thinking of him guilty and nothing can changer her mind. If not, manslaughter because they think its a lessor charge, but it still provides life. Unless they know the sentencing term themselves they are not allowed to know.

Hey, how would any of you like to be on this jury?
This is what happens when politics encroaches upon the judicial system.

Justice is never achieved...because that is not the goal here.

Hung jury is my hunch also...we will soon see.

If I knew nothing about the case going in, I would like to be on the jury. As it is, I would disqualify myself.

<edit> If the prosecution had come up with some kind of evidence that showed Z was guilty of something I would happily vote to convict him, but they had literally nothing as far as I can tell. The prosecution eye witnesses all corroborated Z's story.

See, people speak all these inaccuracies and people that don't know all the facts take them as fact. Sigh...
it was only you who spoke the inaccuracy in this case, smarty.

nice try at trying to shove the blame elsewhere though. don't blame others for your lack of being informed.

You wanna stop being treated like criminals? You wanna stop being the vast majority in jails? You wanna be respected instead of coddled? Take a look at your actions as a group. If every group throughout history has treated you as if you were an animal... hmmm maybe you should stop acting like animals.
wow, what a racist thing to say that totally ignores the fact that blacks in this country were treated like animals by white supremacists like you for centuries.

dumbass.

"The irony and the tragedy in this case are that in assuming this was a racially motivated crime, the federal and state authorities (including the president, who publicly identified with Martin by saying Martin could have been his son) turned a simple self-defense case into a racial circus. As Cornell law professor William Jacobson explained:
We also knew that Eric Holder had the DOJ investigate the case, and that the FBI found no evidence that Zimmerman was racist or motivated by racism. What we didn’t know until [Wednesday] was that the DOJ supported some of the anti-Zimmerman rallies, as disclosed by Judicial Watch.

The way the trial has been conducted is an equal travesty.

The prosecution is throwing everything against the wall, including conflicting and inconsistent theories that Trayvon was on the bottom of the fight screaming and alternatively that Trayvon was on top pulling back.

Similarly the prosecution creates obsessive distractions such as whether Zimmerman “followed” Martin, even though that is legally irrelevant.

"

While you are absolutely all for it, as is.
zimmerman is a dumb cop wannabe vigilante who profiled and pursued an innocent child in the dark with his loaded gun, safety off, after talking about these fucking punks, these fucking assholes.

he never thought to identify himself to martin given several chances to do so, he lied to the police over and over, he lied to fox news, and then he called all of this "god's plan".

the man is a fucking psycho, his history shows this. he should never have been allowed to own a gun in the first place, but got a very lucky plea after assaulting a cop.

"ultimately avoidable by zimmerman" translates easily to culpable negligence in the death of a minor, zimm's own words about these fucking assholes, these fucking punks, shows ill will and intent, following around this innocent kid in the dark with his loaded gun, safety off, shows a depraved mind.

of course i want to see this asshole in front of a jury of his peers.
