Yeah i saw the videos with the strain hunters making there charas. I totally agree with Frenchy about the GHS people I spoke with Franco about that last time i was in amsterdam and in there shop down by central station. Its all about money pretty much too them. They do keep a big batch of seeds for themselves in a big seed bank. They are suppose to be releasing some non regular seeds supposodly from what he said. I would die to go on an adventure like that hiking around the mountains with frenchy oh man. Im sure its pretty cheap travel wise just cause the countries are so poor. Just getting there would be the main expense. I know hiking in the mountains its not as easy as some believe it is. I do alot of hiking here in Montana over 9000 ft and everything you do up there is work.

It is funny tho how Arjan always speaks about preserving those landrace strains that are tucked away back in the mountains that Frenchy is talking about but yet they dont release any of them to the public. Some of those plants from that strain hunter video looked pretty bomb. You know what the cool thing is that those plants from when Frenchy was there have probably changed very little. I get what Frenchy is saying also cause when Arjan shows up in those places he usually has bunches of Feminized seeds to give the local farmers. Then they grow that with there crops not good

^^^The Malawi/rift expidition has a lot of hash making the old ways in it too.

I've personally tasted some of Frenchy's master pieces. The smoke has body/volume to it that taste unreal. You can taste the effort and passion in his hash. Can't wait to see this thread develop and for us all to learn some of the Frenchy's hash traditions.
Thanks for sharing Frenchy

I understand totally the value of the video and I recommend it, it is truly a magic experience to spent some time in these valleys (10 to 12,000 ft by the way) and to have a chance to get a pick at it is quite a nice gift. Their guide's knowledge and long terms relations with the local gave them a chance to visit spots that "outsiders/tourists" will never access. I thought they were lucky but I guess money was talking in fact. It is the non respect for what they are actually hunting that I find really disgusting. The non respect for the tradition, culture, for the genetic itself, the best Charas has been coming from these valleys for literally thousands of year, and you need the best to make the best.
How dare you!

.
A pleasure. By the way, they are not my Hash traditions but were learned in Morocco, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nepal. In a way they became mine, but only to share.

They intend on releasing a land race line Fromm all the seeds they got from their expeditions. Feminized of course...

So yet again he's muddying up good genetics. Spreading fem seeds around which will cross with the native plants. Sounds not good to me. It's all a damn shame

They know that their femmed seeds are destroying the gene pool...hence why they are collecting and saving the seeds from these places now. Just imagine in 20 or so years time, only ghs will have the 'lost' land race seeds.

i made some awesome hash 2 days ago frenchy, waited till it was only about 10 percent moisture left then hand rubbed and pressed it. It turned a lovely blonde brown and stayed very mold able and workable. full melt. i need to post a picture soon. i think i may have agitated the trichs too much but the extraction that i rubbed was only 90 73 and 25 bags together....il interested in doing a bigger run and rubbing the individual microns alone instead of combining them. thanks again frenchy, my boss was very impressed( since it is for a mmj store , i must note it is extremely hard to hand rub hash with gloves on.) il try at home bare skinned.

Be very careful when you leave any humidity in your pressed hashish to make your cure in a glass container and to pop it open a few time a day to avoid any mold. Also I may not have mentioned it yet here but i do not separate my trichomes by size. Since I am looking for the all that make the strain I am working with, I use only 70 and 45 microns bags to collect. Please experience the difference of taste by smoking a 120, 90 and 70 microns trichomes separate and then 70 to 120 together. You will taste what I mean. Hand pressing is done without gloves to maximize the heat through friction. Remember to hand press until the smell really come out. You cannot over-press by hand so really go for it. The look and the smell will tell you how good you are doing

thank you for that info, i will try the 73 120 mix for sure! i check my hash jars 3 times daily so i should be able to prevent mold if i see conditions starting to form......the relative humidity in my town today is 8% very very very dry and high up. thank you so much frenchy, il be sure to keep experimenting and working to get the best tasting best burning hash i can. Your a true inspiration sir, one day il go rub some charas in india. much love! have a dank week, its vacation time for this nerd.

Good day Mr Frenchy Cannoli

It's a pleasure to meet you.I believe I saw you on one of Subs vids showing off some of your extracts in a local shop.I don't remember the
name of the shop but Sub looked like he was having a good time none the less.

So I'm Ocanabis and I am a huge hash snob of sort's.I just finished going through the thread and getting caught up to speed.
So a lot has been discussed about Charas and of coarse Bubble but but we hadn't mentioned any thing about dry sift.

I personaly love my dry sift.Over the years I have tried hash in evry aspect pretty much but when it comes down to it I just like my Dry sift.
I built my own tumbler a few years ago and now it's the only way to do it.I'm a bit of a handy man and I couldn't imagine myself paying $4 to $500.00
for a tumbler so with a little research via google I designed and built my own

If memmory serves me correctly the screen is a 110 tpi. It's a little coarse and I do get a tad of green matter but it's
acseptable to me for the time being.I do plan on finding some thing a little finner perhaps in the 90 would be nice.
I tumble it by hand rotation for 10 minutes and consider that to be the good stuff lol.I'll then do 1 run tumble for 7
minutes and any thing after that just starts to taste pretty green
(yuky poo)

I actually wrote a DIY Hash Tumbler article on for Skunk Magazine for their Hash addition and it was right next to Sub's tutorial on Bubble extraction.
It was a couple of years ago now.

I've include a few pics for you of my Tumbler, my Press, (2) 2 grams pucs and my favorite smoking device

So I just wanted to stop by and say hi and offer yet another aspect to hashish

Oh I love's me some good H

later Frenchy and say hi to Sub for me next time yea see him

Frenchy i got some Timewreck 45 i am hand press roll around like your saying i totally get the heat from the friction of the hand. My question is this how hard do you press. I just tried a little bit to see. One thing i did learn from this little trail is that you can create alot of heat from the friction rolling the hash around in your hand so much so that you can burn your hand somewhat. Is this too much force being applied or is this alright? Im sure after doing some of that you have to build up some callused hands if you did that on a daily basis.
