Face it, our healthcare system is pure unadulterated garbage.

Ultra high premiums and substandard coverage. I don't care if it is private, public or anything in between, it is a scam and everyone envolved has the blood of the innocent on thier hands, from system administrators, doctors on down to insurance salesmen.

I dont blame the doctors, I blame the screwed up 3rd party payer system we use for medical costs... If we had competition, torte reform and got rid of a boatload of useless legislation we could see real reductions in the cost of healthcare along with more choices.

People need to realize that healthcare is not free...

Compare auto insurance to health insurance and the auto insurance would cover the oil changes, tire replacements, tuneups, repairs and be much more expensive than collision insurance.

We are not country X... We do not have a VAT tax... We do not pay 6+ dollars per gallon for gasoline.... You are trying to compare apples to lizards and being a complete dumbass while you do it...

Smokers already pay huge taxes (300% or more) on their cigarettes. They more than pay for their added medical bills, but those taxes do not go to their care. Instead, it goes to other beneficiaries. Pot smokers don't pay any penalty for their self-inflicted damage to their lungs, but I don't see you advocating charging them more. Would you charge more for people who live in cities with dirty air, like LA? Charge more for people living in Chicago, the murder capital of the USA? How would you allocate all these extra charges? Who would make these decisions?
