I started a whiite russian grow on september 15th. I didnt want to post much until I was sure it would work as it is my very first hydro grow after years of outdoor, a couple of years indoors in soil. The seeds were vegged for 21 days under 4-T5 HO 4' tubes @ 6500. This pic was takin 15 days after popped. I used a locally mixed nonorganic nute mix and a couple of other useless additives (remember Im new lol). My setup which is DIY consists of a 40 gallon bottom res., 7 gallon upper res, airstone, and no media under pots. I was running the nutes on the high side @ 800-900 but was using a tester that had a .5 conversion. Also had no ideal what I was running due to using test strips, which IMO suck! This is a pic of the girls @ 21 days Finally got a proper tester and started to record PH and EC. I was running a real low PH before I got the pen, I figure it got as low as 4.5 at times!! At 21 days I switched to 400 hps and 12/12, please note my pump is set for 30 on 30 off 24/7. Nute levels (new pen .71 conv.) 1550 and PH 6.0-6.5. I do have issues with PH as my water is a bit hard (well). Everything looks good so far and I have finally stopped streeing that they are about to die as everyone is telling me my nutes are too high and pump on to long, but am reluctant to change things as I have not witnessed this kind of growth ever lol. Now things are really happening fast with the stretch coming on strong!!! I have to move the light everyday as the plants are growing like inches a day. This growth is going to pose a problem if it doesn't stop soon, my cieling is only 7'! I change the res every 10-14 days and dont top up much unless cant get to res change for a day or two. Through out the grow I have maintained the TDS 1300-1500 and the EC 1.5-2.0 and PH 5.5-6.5. The one reason I did this review was to let people know that I had extreme stretch with these guys and to be prepared! This is the girls as of a week ago and I have lost total control of the situation lol I cannot get into the room as they have taken over like vines, In the last week the buds have become alot fuller and (not recommended) I have broken and retied most of the main stalks to keep them away from light. Also something to note is how fragile the stalks are and that they snap at the slightest bend. When the plant is fanally done I will post some more pics and a smoke report but for now I can't really get good pics as i can't get through door. Also I did top these girls in thier second week of veg and next time would probably top the crap out of them to try to limit growth and try to keep temps more constant as that may have been a contributing factor in stretch. I do have a Mataro Blue grow that I just switched to 12/12 and will post that soon as well.
