You who know who you are, take your best shot, I'm not as bulletproof as I once was, but most of your bullshit still bounces off. Maybe he can bring back some sense to this country as it has gone way past nonsense. The right would have us in war with half the globe as if kicking ass were going to make people like us. I have worthy real-life liberal opponents and are ironically some of my closest friends. Now I will admit they are quite as liberal'd as you, mainly because they aren't psycho. However, I love a good debate, but you are keen on achieving victory through insults. You criticize Bush on totally irrelevant and arbitral conspiracies and not argue his plans and bills he has tried to pass through Congress. I would like to see more of this, besides blaming him for everything you can possible imagine on a daily basis, come here and dispute, civilly, what he has passed through Congress, or attempted to.

Now I know I'm kind of giving attention to basically a temper tantrum from an attention whore here and I am kind of at fault for doing so but I feel like there is some intelligence left in you and I know that if you exert a phenomenal amount of self control you can be a welcomed member on the debate table.

When it comes to Bush, there is no debate. His moronic presidency has set this country back 50 years. It is so obvious to anyone with two braincells that a debate would be infantile. No matter what he passes or tries to pass, the damage has been done and there is no reversing it untill the next presidential cycle. Bush is definently a closed case for me. The constitutional republic could have a bright future, we just need to get rid of the corruption at it's core, though it may just take a revolution to do it. It certainly won't come about until middle class America gets pushed out of it's comfort zone. We're just too complicit at this point.

I imagine that Obama will take the presidency, it will probably be an uneventful 4 years, he'll get the economy back on track, use an emotional event to outlaw some guns, etc. There'll be a terrorist incident nearing the next election and we'll elect another neo-con that knows how to play on the publics fear into office. And the cycle will continue as such until the union is reduced to a police/nanny state where the eyes of big brother watch us all...

I won't vote for any of the aforementioned candidates, I might vote for Paul, but I refuse to delude myself with fantasies that he'll fix everything. Even if he were to actually beat the odds and became president, he'd never overcome his opposition in congress.

Compared to me, Rush Limbaugh is a liberal. But, I agree with your point that war without purpose is paving the path to Hell. I think it would be in everyone's best interest to stop name calling and support the next President, if that person moves us toward a policy of nationalism and away from failed policies of internationalism. World-wide meddling has gotten us into this wringer. If we can find proof-positive of international terrorism toward the USA, we should go after them and blow their asses up. And then come home.

Hopefully the first thing Paul would do in office is get rid of those signing statements (bills are passed by congress, presidential directives are not) that Bush created to increase the executive branches despotic powers. Using them would be unbecoming to a president running on a platform of change.

What congress needs is an civilian oversight committee, that is elected by a true popular vote, with one year, one term, limitations. That way it would be nearly impossible for them to be bought out.

I agree that Paul has good intentions, and his voting record shows that he is a man of action and conviction. He would make a fine president, and certainly the best choice of the available candidates. He has consistently endorsed freedom of speech and individual choice so long as it doesn't harm another person or infringe on their civil liberties.

I do fear (possibly unreasonably, idk..) that his religiosity may interfere with some issues.. but I suppose that could be said of any of the candidates. Sometimes I wish we really did have separation of church and state.. not just the illusion of it..

We have two past failed policies to consider: The Clinton policy of hand wringing and blowing up asperin factories. Or the Bush plan to go out, kill everything, smile, rebuild everything, and then say "let's be friends".
