Romney says we have universal health care now, It's call the emergency room. What a comment. That just shows the disconnect. Emergency room visits are such a huge cost. Who flips the bill for that? We do? So I don't understand if we are flipping the bill for emergency room visits, When everyone could pay 15-30 dollars a month based on income and be assured they have health care and they are taking responsibility for there health instead of us.
Also we don't live in preventative care society, we live in a cure the sickness society. I mean when I went to school, there were a couple fat kids, and they were fat cause it was in there genes. Everyone else was skinny. I look at kids now and most of them are chubby and fat. I live close to a middle school and they have a track, and half the kids are fat, winded and walking around the track. Until we take personal responsibility for our health and not have the food industry hypnotize us with all the processed foods, we will see a increase in health care. And the tax payers will be on the hook for those cost.

Not letting insurance kick people to medicaid, as they would if they could, saves the tax payer money. Insurance already benefits from medicare, they collect your premiums for 20+ years, then you turn 65 and medicare picks up the lions share of your medical expenses.

I just had to get an MRI, and I couldn't schedule it until it was pre authorized through the insurance, the insurance took 3 weeks to eventually authorize it. If I didn't have prior authorization, in the fine print, the insurance will decline paying and you get a bill for thousands of dollars (I hit my insurance with more than $20k in bills this year). While waiting I looked up what to do if they decline authorization, obamacare gives you the ability to request a qualified 3rd party to review your appeal.

Either way, making the "private" insurance keep their losers saves the tax payer money because those people would be on medicaid if the insurance could drop them.

60% of bankruptcies are due to medical bills for people WITH health insurance.

Addendum to above:

Certain provisions; no lifetime cap, preexisting conditions, etc (basic "humanitarian" shit) should STAY, but the forced coverage parts, etc are inconsistent with individual liberties and should be rejected by all.

The Free Market is awesome, it generally speaking is consistent and predictable...however sometimes (like a teenager/young adult) it needs "direction", which the above provisions provide for, but like teenagers/young adults, if you push it too hard it will push back to a net negative.

Just IMO.

how about we rebuild the infrastructure and give jobs to those who are on food stamps. Wow that would be a constructive use of money imagine that.

If that was what we were using the tax money on i would be more then happy to pay higher taxes, but to just give it to someone it not right. They should have to do something even if its just picking up 1 soda can that someone littered.

This is my argument as well.

Why do we just GIVE it to them? Not all of them are bedridden and unable to produce something for the free fuckin hand outs they are getting.

We would run out of welfare recipients before we ran out of work they could be doing to better our communities and nation as a whole. But instead we just give it to them, and they just take it and continue on in their useless path of consuming.

Could you elaborate on that part? Forcing insurance companies to keep their losers costs them more money than it otherwise would when they kicked the person to medicaid.

No longer being able to kick people for "pre existing" conditions costs the insurance a lot more money than it did pre-obamacare.

Having a review process that can force the insurance company to pay for procedures they are trying to deny costs them more money than it did pre-obamacare.

I guess because everyone would have to get insurance it's to the insurance companies benefit? But they get more losers along with winners and have to keep them. Losers being customers that have costly long term treatments, radiation, chemo, periodic imaging (MRI or CT or Angio), etc...

Shitty insurance policies aren't worth shit. I've had insurance (through employer) that declined to pay for a prescription for imitrex. With no appeal process they just flat out said nope.

Whole system is fucked. I got a bill for $10,203 for a single MRI/Angio image from Swedish Neuroscience. My insurance paid 20% of it and told them to take a hike, which they accepted. Everything is marked up insanely higher than what they end up getting for payment from the insurance.
