I just learned that cannabutter tastes God-awful...like something I would scrape from the bottom of my lawn mower awful!. Not only that, but you burp the shit up for hours...thereby extending the lawn-clipping taste indefinitely. I've been cooking/baking for 25 years, and can't find any recipes in which the budder won't ruin the final product.
I'll be trying your method in the future.
Peace
I know what you mean. Using regular bud tends to give it that grass taste. Using the hash is much better, and processing it into the coconut oil makes it very good. And you don't need to use much, so the flavor is dispersed. I def recommend following this guide:

and making the coconut oil. Once you do that you can just straight eat the oil because it's ready. Or you can use it any way you want. I have followed his recipes and made candy and hash caps. I have also used the oil to make pb cookies from a betty crocker mix.
If you do make the candy let me give you some advice:
If your candy thermometer is anything like mine there will be a slight lag between actual temp and displayed temp. Prepare for the temp to continue climbing 10-20 degrees after you kill the heat.
Preheat your food color, flavor, and oil before adding it. Adding cold stuff will drop the temp too fast and cause your candy to solidify in the pot. I put a glass inside a pot of boiling water with my flavoring, coloring, and oil in it, so it was close to the boiling point of water when I added it to the sugar/water mix.
Mix that shit together and pour it out quickly while it's still hot.
