Lol im in the uk we buy our birds of prey as it illegal to trap or take from there nest !
America is diffrent in many ways and tbh is better for falconry imo none the less we take it very seriously and many that do partake in the sport live it to the full ;-)
Ive sat with a eagle on my arm for nearly 2 wks solid the only time i got a rest was to eat or to take a piss or shit lol it is needed tho as the birds are very stubborn when first took from there parents and any weakness u give is detrimental in there trainin and behaviour at a later date eg screamin or a footy bird which you wanna avoid at all costs believe me haha if you ve neva been out on a hunt with birds of prey id look up some hunts in your state or county as its very interestin and alot to take in it gives you a diffrent veiw to huntin all together and is by far the oldest kind of sport/livin you ll find;-)

Sorry mate i take it your from the states and to get invoved with falconry yes you ll av to join your nearest club to get invoved but is worth every minute imo its the closest you ll come to bein with the wild and is exciting and relaxin at the same time if you love huntin you ll find falconry another way of livin as ive said it takes over ya life as does growin weed if u let it!! im takin a brake from falconry atm but as soon as the time is right i wont think twice about puttin a khan glove back on with a very intelegent bird which will give it there all for merely nothin but respect!!

Anyone have a compound bow they want to sell me?
Since apparently I can't manage to find any cams to buy separately to shorten the length of mine.

20 years eh, you must be a veteran hunter...saw a blood trail on the road 75 yards long on the shoulder ....end of the trail was the biggest deer I have ever seen...and it was not bloated because it was fresh kill..drove that route 4 hours earlier and no blood or deer...but this deer was massive and some body cut his head off.

I've been hunting for around 15 years. They bow was given to me by my step father and it has to long of a draw for me.
I'm guessing someone seen the deer before you and wanted his head and rack. Did you take the rest of the deer?

Shot one last Friday. Seemed like a clean shot but I tracked that bitch for over 2 hrs and never did find her. Waiting for gun season to come in so I can blast one with my .357. They don't go but 20 yards after a hit from that thing.

When all seems lost, remember, deer always circle back around. If you get to the point where you cannot figure out where a blood trail went, start from the beginning.
How long did you wait before you started tracking? Where did you shoot the deer at?

man they dont always goin a circle ive had them run few miles in a straight line over mountains and rivers and keep on going deer are hard to kill. but yea how long did you wait to go look for deer jimmy? you should wait awhile depending opn where you hit it and how your arrow blood looks. if its guts or liver i wait 8 to 12 hours. heart or lung give it an hour if you didn't c it fall. anything else give it till the next day and look in the daylight

Had no idea you wait that long to track a deer...figured coyotes would get it if ya let it go 8-12 hours or overnight....I think the missing head on the deer was someone looking for a nice rack on a roadkill..not sure if that is considered poaching or not....don't think it is illegal...my buddy says he carries a hatchet in his truck in case he sees a nice one on the side of the road.

no that aint poaching i was thinking you went someone shot it off the side of road and cut its head off and left the rest. i would have took it to if it was roadkill with a huge rack. and yea with a bad hit you gotta wait forever, or you will jump the deer and it usaully will clot up and you will never c it again, happened to me a few times.

oh and sometimes the coyotes do eat them its just a chance you have to take if you dont make a good shot.
