I got a couple hours again before lights come on... but I figured I'd just throw this out there based on my experience:

The plants closest to the Metal Halide are growing batshit crazy by comparison to those that are furthest away from it, the combination of HPS & MH seems to be working very well for me but I am definitely, without so much as a fraction of a doubt seeing a lot more vigorous growth from the plant directly under the MH vs the ones getting a more exclusive amount of HPS. It's hard for me to take decent comparison pictures w/ my sports cam but I'll try. The plant that has been getting measured with the tape measure is the one directly under the MH and I feel just great about that one.

I'd personally recommend using one if you have multiple lights... I might try out UVB reptile lights toward the end too but not sure, I am eventually going to rotate a couple new plants in every few weeks and at that point there really won't be a 'late flowering' period for stuff like that as different ages plants will be all mixed together anyway.

First grow in 5 years actually and there was never a very serious one before that, I have very limited experience but I am no dummy so everything has been working rather well for so far (knock on wood)

I am hoping this will be a successful grow and the journal will come to life soon when I start getting flowers, I will start getting more HD video clips when the budporn starts flowing.

Day 9 Flower (Day 34 Total)

Some more updated photos, nothing much to report other than they keep on growing... still uncertain of sex with the two seed plants but everything else is a lady, of course.

I still don't know if I definitely have my plants labeled correctly either, I have them labeled exactly as I received them and my buddy who I got them from knows his shit... but Wappa is 100% Indica and those scraggly looking thin/lanky ones in the front of the VSCROG are "Wappa" but damn they look like the total opposite to me. Is that what Wappa looks like? I was thinking maybe it was the 3D and they were swapped around (or neither) because I got both of those (3 of each) at same time.

The one in the back that's bigger than everything else (plus the Horizontal SCROG) is "Third Dimension" I know for sure I did not get them mixed up but would you think these are correct based on looking at them? I know it sucks to see I hate how the forum automatically re-sizes them to tiny but I was far too lazy to individually link every image again this time.

I suppose once they have matured flowers I will be able to easily identify them based on google bud porn though and confirm that they are what they're supposed to be, Not concerned about that really just don't want to get them mixed up and not know what I am smoking lol.

Yeah hempy is really easy... you could at least do one just in the corner of your grow or somewhere if there's a small place to tuck it just to experiment even... if you had a little more room you could do the same thing with a bubbler, you can build one so cheap with cheap lower level hardware and just try it. You could just be a natural right away and it could just work for you... I felt really good about it when I did it my first time with no experience just from reading forums (back then Overgrow was the big site I went to.. ages ago lol) but I was on Grasscity and here as well I think under other user names or just lurking a lot.

I only feed my hempy's once a day sometimes... although I have been inclined to go twice a day since they're growing pretty good sized now and the back SCROG takes a lot more than the rest to start draining runoff too... thirsty one that plant is! I have all of them fed by equal length lines and dont have it marked which goes where so I overwater and waste a little with the ones that drain way faster but whatever it's not a biggie since it's a slow flow rate anyway. Hand feeding I did for the first 20 days or so and that was fine, just mixed it up and used a milk container once every couple days until I got just a dribble of runoff as I hated emptying the drain pans too often lol.

Yeah when i was setting this grow up i was thinking about using some extra space i had for an auto flower grow in the corner i considered making it a dwc but i eventually decided not to go threw with the 3rd plant, it would be fun to have a DWC to play but like i said i think the space is a bit to tight for it, the hempy system sounds nice and simple with reasonable maintenance though. I think i will soon have my grow under control as long as i can get this PH down so I'm gonna focus on this for a while but if things go south I'm definitely going to consider those hempy buckets. Its funny that you mention overgrow i loved that site it was so huge back in the day, to bad the fucking feds had to go and internationally fuck them over.

Wow man the girls sure are looking a lot more skinny since you took the scissors to them, except for that fatty in the horizontal scrog of course that is still a huge bitch, just curious how big is that scrog screen and how long have you been vegging her for? I cant wait to see what you are going to pull out of her.

Yeah Hempy's seem to be great, I'd definitely give it a go next time around... and I miss overgrow too, that was so long ago.

I need to go get a measurement of the screen when lights come on in an hour, I would guess around 24x36" but I can't really remember (honestly never measured it) so I'll definitely figure it out when I go back down there. I still tucked them under again yesterday... not letting them grow up yet and getting a lot of new growth because of it, screen should be full within the week I think but I might have them all growing vertically before then I can't train too much longer (yet can't resist)

The ones near the front were always pretty thin though, I did a lot of trimming but they never looked like lush, full plants I think it's the pheno... they're growing well just so damn skinny and lanky/empty looking. Hopefully that changes and they make me a believer by accumulating some dense buds.

Actually I think it's 32x34" based on my photo... the mesh is 2x4" so I just added them up and that's what I got... we'll see though, that takes in account the curve and everything.

I Vegged them all the same length of time, about 24 days (from clones)

Day 12 Flower (Day 37 Total)

I am thinking that one of the bagseed plants is a male, the pre-flowers are still very small but look to be more of a single ball than a more elongated design and I also cannot find any other signs of female (I would figure 12 days in I would) but my other bagseed plant is showing a couple hairs in very few places. How long do I have before this thing is going to polinate my crop, assuming it is indeed a male? I was thinking I should get rid of it soon but don't want to jump the gun and kill what I should not.

Unfortunately I don't have a good camera for getting tight macros on preflowers since I dropped it the other week... I'll get some general photos up today but not sure if I can get any identifiable photos or video of the suspect male plant. Cool looking plant too, I liked it but it's smaller anyway.

The rest are all definite ladies and starting to form the first traces of flowers.


Honestly, in some strange way it would be good if this is a Male, I need more room around my cylinder SCROG... plants are all up in each other's business haha. Although this could also be an opportunity to put one of my other Veg plants in there too... hmm.

I believe male flowers grow and can pop pretty quickly i would keep a very close eye on it, on my last attempt it took about 2-3 days for the male flowers to become noticeable are you sure the plant is sexually mature?

It's pretty likely they were not mature yet as they came from seed and all the others are from clones, the other plants had pre-flowers (some with hairs and all) showing the entire time through veg because they were definitely mature already. I'll probably wait a couple more days and look at that plant again unless I have some definitive signs tomorrow then I can pull it. Still been lazy with the camera but starting to get to a point where I want to take more pics so who knows might still do it tonight after my shows.
