I wasn't about to pay $220 for a decent size kief box I could sift my trimmings with so I made one, here's what came out:
The top and base are made from a composite hardwood luan 1/4" the rest of the box was made out of spare base molding I had lying around the garage and some door stop trim. the screen is bridal viel material found at jo ann fabrics or michaels or anywhere that sells fabric. you can even get the ultra clearance rack for $.99/yd. with some rediculous pattern on it but it wont matter since you can cut the screen size you need and ditch the pink polka dot print on the other half of it. I rubbed a 1/4 pound of trimmings through it and got 13.3g of kief. I don't know if this is good or not since this is the first time I've made kief in any decent quantity but it sure is fun scooping out mounds of kief to put on top of bowls I highly recommend building one. You need a mitre saw or really strong arms and a mitre box. Wood glue. Painter's tape to tape all the corners after you glue them. super glue with spray on instant set. if there is any interest I'll make another one and give you guys a step by step on it.
