yay bluejeans! i love having an internet grandma. lol. yeah my wife had thrown her back out and they proscribed muscle relaxers. she took a few the first day or two now doesnt need em anymore. tons of extras. she doesnt smoke anymore so thats out, but she seems to be doing better. good diet, exercise and stretching. works wonders.

about to go check on everyone. propped open the propagator yesterday so today or tomorrow i will take the lid off completely. waiting to see the first roots, then its time to go buy hydro stuff.

OH AND IN OTHER NEWS after just water last time, all the leaves are already starting to de-curl!!! pretty amped. i mean its not definite but it seems that they are straightening out...stoked!
Excellent news on the unfurling! Now, the next time you water (make sure she needs it first...) give her about 1/2 strength nutes... she will eat it up and reward you nicely. Then go back to water only for the next couple of times. Continue to alternate two plain water with 1 nutrient feed through the rest of the cycle and you'll be amazed at the results. Just watch her fan leaves and she will tell you if she needs more nutes.

And when you are ready for something new, come over to my thread and check out the coco recipe I use. It is very basic, very simple, and almost impossible to get wrong. And cheap too. And the results are simply awesome.

Another tidbit of advice... if you are at the point where you've got the prop lid open, then it is time to set up your hydro bucket. You want to get everything running and let it run without a hitch for at least 24 hours before you attempt to put your plants in there. For one thing, running it 24 hours in advance will give you a chance to make sure everything works like you want (including any timers), and having your airstones running ahead of time will super oxygenate your water for the young plants.

What nutes are you going to be using with they hydro?

If you have documentation of the back pain showing a 6 month or more history, you qualify. Call Dr. Dustin Sulak's office and make an appointment. Be prepared to pay the office visit fee up front ($300). Bring your medical records with you to speed things up. It's amazing the psychological difference once you're legal...

And I've back off my board time quite abit with the addition of a brand new granddaughter. This makes 2 under age 3. :-) Lots of fun, but very exhausting...
oh i know how fun/exausting they are 5 monyh old, 5 year old and a 9 year old. if its 6 months it wont be untill after the summer as i just went in like 3 weeks ago, i have a doc appointment next week and probally going to do x ray and scans.

ill definatly write that name down and look him up once i reach my 6 month mark, thanks for the tip :)

Your claws are decurling? Damn... I've never had a claw revert back to a healthy leaf - I feel so defeated now, didn't even know that was possible. Fucking awesome though.

hehe The evil Claw !! PGR's can cause the claw, my last got it for 3 or so days then they all perked up, but that a whole different story....

good to hear things are going well :)

The claw is due to auxin signalling causing a portion of the leaf to grow faster than the rest which causes the leaf to curl - PGRs would definitely be able to do this along with a long list of stresses including saline soil, light direction, gravity, watering patterns... In order to get the leaf to uncurl you essentially need the auxin signals to still be present in the leaf but everywhere except where they were before - which I guess is possible if the leaves are all growing very rapidly.

I don't like the claw as its one of the hardest things to diagnose imo. Awesome that you took care of it. WIsh we could definitively figure out what was causing it. It is possible that it was the ferts - or the amount of them in the soil.

the soil game ;) a few more risks involved here and there

only thing i dont really like about soil is exactly what you say...diagnosis, unless you have some good experience with it, like you Gas!! :)
I like my perlite cause if i realize i messed up, i can flush, and start over and the medium changes to suit quite easily

GO the Natural Boys!! not sayin soil is a bad thing at all, i love it, any herb is usually good erb :)

Kratose thanks for coming by man! yeah i would totally switch those bulbs over if i could. i made the 3by cab first and was flowering in there before i got my HPS, hence the redder bulbs. at the moment i cant afford to pick up whiter bulbs for the veg cab. will be replacing them as they die with whiter ones. i DIDNT realize however that that would reduce stretch! thats a good thing to know! fortunately for me, the ladies in my veg cab all came from my first two ladies, which were in flower when i took said clones, so in essence monster cropped my first two ladies to produce almost all my current clones. if that makes sense. lol. MEANING OF COURSE that the resultant current ladies in veg are almost exclusively toppy rather than singles. they all split like 2 or 3 inches from the medium. almost the first node. most of them seem to have a dominant top but they all are very bushy!

roofwayne you da man! lol. im on here for the same reason and i think (hope) that everyone else on here is the same!

Ok, wasn't sure if you didn't know about the blue spectrum CFL's so I thought I bring it up. But yeah it makes sense that you had red for when you were flowering. And yeah it def reduces stretch. I will have to see if I have a picture to show you just how much it will reduce. Recently I vegged out 3 plants under the blue spectrum cfl's, and when I put them in the flowering room I put another one that was just a small seeding with them. It ended up stretching so much that it was taller than the other 3 that was older than it by 4 weeks. Even now its huge. Only has one top, compared to the others that have multiple tops. So the amount a plant will stretch under red lights can be absurd.

I got a beast I put into flowering over a week ago, and it almost doubled in size. It was a beast to begin with. Now it has about 15 tops. If I had a bigger room to work with I would do all of them like that, probably bigger. Just don't have the space. I hope to get a house within 2 years and when I do I will have a setup in the basement so I can grow the way I would like to.

But yeah, can't wait to see how your grow goes. Your cabs are awesome.

BTW when you get any good budshots you can submit them to my site cannabis country (its in my sig) and potentially have them featured as the bud of the week. Bluejeans has one featured. Was her Red Cherry Berry. I rather feature people's girls from RIU because I know how much hard work they put into it and they are usually some really awesome looking buds. So any of you guys are welcome to submit your girls. If you do just include any info you have on it, strain, how it was grown, time vegged/flowered ect. And if you want to be credited as A reader, or a nick name ect.

Wait, monster.green.thumb is in the area too? I've met one other on this board f2f a couple of time... nice guy! I knew Matthebrute was about 75 miles from me. This is SO cool! I have another friend in the area who is a new grower with a new med card, but so far, I haven't convinced her to join the online party.

Yeah the coffee at TH is actually good! As for a "meet-up", I think that would be stellar! There are at least 2 other "locals" on the board here and I have a local friend who I've been trying to get onto the forum. Maybe a meet up would spur her onto the board.

My summer is shaping up to be filled with homegrown so I'm game!

Sounds awesome. We can do an informal cookout and what not, if everybody just brings a picnic, then we'll be all set.
