Annoying ass Christians.... not the religion just the people

Reporting what you believe to be a misplaced thread is not snitching. Mods are not coppers.

I do not object to people practicing their religion. It's their business. I stated previously the First Amendment stands, and I meant it.

You seem to believe my concerns are trivial. I disagree. Every example I gave is unconstitutional when the government is involved.

The GOVERNMENT has no business decreeing on my currency what I believe.

The GOVERNMENT should not pick and choose who pays taxes and who dodges them based on a belief in an invisible man in the sky.

I have no interest in wanting to control what other people think about or do. That is exactly my argument against public accommodation of religion. I should not be forced to conform to other people religious beliefs just because they are in the majority.

Cannabis is prohibited because people wish to impose their morals on others. My money makes a liar out of me because someone else imposes their beliefs on everyone.
Ok . I didn't mean that to sound that way . Not trivial . You have good points of view , often a different way of looking at things than myself but I do not think you should be forced into any thing . That would be just wrong . I better understand what your'e saying now and yes you do have valid points . I misunderstood you . Morals are part of it but the thing is that to me personal choices are not respected . Weed is a personal choice to me but I see what you mean by the imposing of morals now .

You will not find the phrase "separation of church and state" anywhere in the Constitution.

To tax a church means it is treated like every other company or individual. See the Equal Protection Clause.

To not tax a church like everyone else solely based on religious grounds flies in the face of the Establishment Clause.
Nope, you sure wont. But you will in landmark Supreme Court cases and also alluded to various times in the Constitution. =)

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
-First Amendment

The problems with Christianity stem from so many sects; they all want to be right, and pushing it on other people is a way to self-justify their own beliefs. The truth is, everybody is wrong. How in the world can one, out of all religions, be correct? They are either all right, or all wrong. I lean towards the latter. The Sumerians got it right, because they wrote directly what they were given. They were taught mathematics, agriculture, economics, ... astronomy.. all 6000 years ago. They even wrote that their written language was handed down to them.

Look at it this way, when were "aliens" invented by man, if they are an invention of mankind? Pretty modern invention, right? I mean, when did we figure out that the earth was round, that the sun was the center of the solar system, that we had outer planets? They described all of that in their cuneiform tablets, even a description of Neptune and Uranus, descriptions that we would never have known if we hadn't sent the Voyager (1&2) spacecraft out there. Things like the tilt, the color, the previously "invisible" rings, retrograde moons, and so much more. How could they even imagine this, without a telescope? They wrote that aliens (God) came to Earth and created Man (Sumerian word for man is Adamo) and Woman from the most advanced life existing on Earth at that time (the dust of the earth) and then genetically modified their genes to make Humans. Ergo, the "missing link" doesn't exist and never has, AND this accounts for the few genes we have that aren't found in any other life form on the entire planet. So, when did we figure out that the root of life is DNA? Their carved stone figure for "life" was an intertwined snake, strikingly similar to the DNA double-helix. How could they know that? Just luck? Coincidence? A lot of coincidence..? They wrote that we were "hard wired" to collect precious metals like Gold because the aliens didn't want to keep doing it themselves. So they made us stewards of the planet, and programmed us to do the things they need us for, and they left.

And don't even get me started about the Bible. It helps to know who wrote what, and how it came to be. Genesis, the most problematic book of the bible, wasn't written in first-person like the rest, because Moses (who wrote the 2nd book, Exodus) "compiled" Genesis from available texts at that time. Other books in the bible describe "God" and it reads like God is some kind of flying ship. WTF. And THEN, King James has his version of the bible printed, in the 16th century I think, and specific things WERE CHANGED. For example, the ten commandments were translated into English from Greek. There are different words for "kill" and "murder", and in the commandment "thou shalt not kill", the greek word is actually that for murder, not kill. Thats a big thing, isn't it? The very next chapter describes in great detail about lawful killing, eye for an eye and all that. Adultery? Thats when somebody married cheats on their spouse, NOT sex without marriage. In fact, a few pages later describe what a virgin is worth when a man doesn't marry the woman, and he has to pay per family. I think it was called a virgins dowry or something like that. Bear False Witness? Thats about manipulating people to get someone in trouble so you can benefit from it, "ya I saw him kill those people (woo hoo, now I can take his land)" Its not about white lies. Can you imagine being asked, "are you hungry?" and you kinda are but say, "no, not really." Well, some people really think you would burn in hell for that. I don't see why. Its not a sin towards God. Its against man. Man isn't God, and neither is the pope. In fact, the pope is supposed to be "keeping the seat warm" until Jesus returns to Earth. Well, if or when he does, I highly doubt anybody would believe Him and The Church would never give up their power to anyone.

See, there is value in reading and understanding the bible because you have fuel to fight crazy religious people. The one about looking at a woman and committing adultery in your heart, if its just as bad then whats the point, you may as well go rape her right? Thinking about murdering someone? Well, you're already going to pay for it in hell because you thought of it, so you may as well go murder that person anyway. THAT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE. Unless, it is limited to the scope of a married man looking at some sweet haughty hottie, and ya I can see how that can affect his relationship with his wife even if he doesn't touch that chick.. usually only if she's with him and catches him...

All the christian religions I've studied all seem to have their short-list of "most important things" from their version of the bible, and redact everything else. What slays me is how they can read 3 or 4 "lines deep" out of something simple to conjecture something huge, something that is plainly refuted elsewhere in the bible. For example, "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." Read into it, and someone might see "dogs are lazy and slow and can't jump" and then read into that, "laziness is a sin," and then determine, "all dogs are going to hell." Its absolutely crazy. People are stupid and will see what they want to see.

I think taxes are Unconstitutional , not all just income and the newer taxes that are discriminatory . It's the representation issue to me that we all suffer from . If you and I got adequate representation then weed would be legal I would be a lot less pricky because I'd have my medication and apoligize for the prickyness . I dont think we should have to pay those taxes in the first place , it's given the powers too much to tap into when they didn't handle responsibly what they had in the first place . Seems like everything the gov gets into gets messed up . Weed was fine a hundred years ago and now theyre involved and look at it . I usually oppose government involvement in things for that reason . It's surely not fair to kids to go to a school and see things of religeon that are in opposition to the way their family brings them up especially if it's paid for with tax dollars - another representation issue . I guess theres a lot of different ways to look at these things Johnny thanks for sharing yours .

The other reason they are annoying is because you can never change their viewpoint. They will get angry before they change how they view the bible, because "other truths" can bring their perceived reality crashing down around them. Affect somebody's reality and they won't like it very much. Its rather hypocritical, how bent out of shape they get, and how angry they tend to become. To be a "true christian" you can't have an open mind, you can't have your own beliefs, and you can't listen to anybody.

Christ, I just wish all the conservative ones would stay out of politics. They fuck-up every election by basing votes on unimportant issues...like abortion and liquor laws.

And I think its funny when I'm attacked for example, and I fight back and somebody says, "you can't defend yourself, you're supposed to be christian! Hypocrite!"

If you're being shot at, and you are armed, it makes sense to shoot back.. Christianity tends to lean towards "sacrifice thyself" instead of valuing your own life. This is evil, twisted logic. Never sacrifice yourself, unless its in terms of helping others.. Like if you are one out of 1000 prisoners and you're on a death march, guarded by 3 guards. A few to sacrifice themselves would liberate everyone. That is different. If somebody wants to murder you just because they have problems with their dad, don't let them, it serves no good.

lol

its kinda funny though

2000

2000 years of torture, murder and general pushing people around in the name of religion (plus alot of robbing people blind)

and now 2000 years later

the atheists finally go

"you are stupid"

and then the people who have been committing atrocities for millennia (2 actually)

go

"you are so mean to us! religious oppression! foul! why are you attacking us!?"

give me a fucking break..

Some people out there hate annoying christians. but I challenge them to stand back and use their brain for a moment. those people that are fanatical and annoying as fuck are likely lunatics! That's right, mentally challenged and out of control. Where else other than religion can psycho people seek asylum? I knew a fanatic and she was genuinely crazy, and that was not because of God or religion. SO, don't hate the game, hate the player, as my dark nemesis once said.

I would hate to be approached on a regular basis, but they usually don't bother me when they try talking to me. I've found myself shooting the shit with some people preaching in the streets. None of these people where what I would call normal, two of them where straight whack jobs, the other just seemed like a crook. The space shots however, were very genuine. Sure they're a little touched, but they truly believe they're going out to help people.

Say what you want about them, I will probably agree, but I've never once left my house intending to help strangers.

I am thankful I don't visit "the streets" practically ever. Now, my only nemesis are those that live in the internet, always pushing their atheism on me with their lies and testimonies of a godless makebelieve reality

mjeh, ive many times helped strangers (car stuck in snow or something)

going around saying "repent!" and "believe in this book or burn in hell!"

is not exactly helpful.

yeah, too bad we got capitalism to prevent real democracy from happening.

money makes the rules.

not right or wrong.
To paraphrase Ben Franklin, Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting to decide what's for dinner.

Democracy is the disease, not the cure. Majority Rule = Mob Rule.

The Constitution established a Republic. But the disease dilutes the Rule of Law.

scaring people is the lazy approach. I prefer to ask questions first, then try to help a man see a new perspective my way. But going on a witchhunt or going door to door , that's just lame

it's all about getting as man converts as possible, like a club, the more followers you have, the more believers will vindicate the faith they are preaching. As soon as they have enough followers, they in turn will go out and get more, and the more that come in, the more funding gets in, and the more power the big headed ones will have. Power = religion x subjugation

You are using a human perspective to describe the purpose of religion, which is based on the spiritual forces in the world. We convert people to save their happy asses from hell, which is just one of a few destinations after DYING.

"Society has conditioned religious people to think religious beliefs are completely off limits to criticism"

so true i dont use the term brainwashing...i prefer "conditioning" when you use the word brainwashing people automaticly picture you with a tin-foil hat muttering to yourself on the corner. (which is a perfect way to keep any real conspiracies under wraps...think about it have you ever listened to any conspiracy theorist and not thought he might be a little crazy or paranoid?) its just another way of safeguarding what i call scarecrowism...and scarecrowism is any manmade religion in my oppinion. its the only way to keep the masses in check.. thats not god! and dont say law enforcement! go look up the solve rate for murders in different areas around the world...its shockingly low! and sure its generally the same for other crimes. i honestly think religion IS a conspiracy!!.....now how many of you think im a paranoid wierdo for saying that?
