whats up man. now i'm bored since i took the rest the day off.
Not shit man. I'm gonna do a rez change on the veg box tonight. I'm expecting roots to emerge from the cups soon so I want them to have an awesome few weeks of veg time in my semi-ghetto box lulz OH yea! I also went to a hydro shop for the first time! It was rather small, but damn did they have alot of shit on their shelves! Ima take $100 up there with me next time I go and grab some AN stuff I think to try out :D I really wanna wane away from all the addiez and just stick with what they need to survive and then a little extra. Ny advice you can throw down on that? I know the Sensi Grow/Bloom Parts A/B seem to be popular duos. I wouldnt need that much veg nutes I dont think...not just for starting clones and whatnot. Either way I wanna try new things in the nutrient department. I saw all sorts of shit today and my mind was so blown away from all the choices. I would love to try some organic stuff, but all I've ever used is Technaflora....rambles

So I went ahead and changed out the rez on the youngins a few mins ago. Cleaned out the tote really good and threw some fresh nutes in with 7 gallons of ph'd water. I also gave them a doseage of the Thrive Alive B1 Green foliar spray and sprayed them down with some insecticidal soap spray. This time I mixed around 30-40% strength nutes for 6 gallons of water and raised the level up to 1" above the netpots. I also added another 4" airstone to the mix as well with them since I picked up some new air line at the hydro shop today :D I topped off the DK's bucket as well and DAMN! She drank like 2 gallons of water of the last day or so. The only time I can really see her roots is when her water level drops and I can spy in through my fill hole lulz. All I see is a mass of white cord roots and bubbles o_O

Hey bro... superthrive really isn't something you want to be adding to a rez. It encourages algae and bacteria growth. And even if you 'must' use it, you REALLY shouldn't be using it during flowering as it can extend the flowering period, and it directs the plants energy to growing roots... not buds. You could use it as a folair spray if you love the stuff, but I wouldn't add it to my rez. Not trying to preach or something, just giving you a heads up.

Sweet. Thanx Wapow and Jig for the input :D I assumed Super Thrive is more for vegging/plant-stress relief for cloning etc. I'm just basically lookin into different nute lineups to see which one I may wanna try next. I know the Fox Farm trio and the GH are pretty popular. I'm really considering trying to load up on some basic AN stuff. Just micro, grow, bloom and maybe a couple of addiez. I spend $40 for a Technaflora mini-suitcase, which may get me through one whole grow with one plant, so I'm just thinking it may be time for a change in direction. I like all the different stuff I have, but I simply dont have enough of it to last as long as I'd like it to. Even using 1/2 strength veg/bloom nutes I still think I could set myself up better monitarily and performance-wise. Like I said I'm open to any suggestions....keep em comin!

You want suggestions.... I suggest Dutch Master nutes. I love love love em. And you've seen the results I've got with them. I didn't know what I was doing when I started so I bought 5 L bottles of the Veg A & B and Flower A & B. I think I harvested about 4 pounds before my Flower nutes ran out. I still have probably 60% of the veg nutes left, and it's been 3 years now I've been growing.

Even if you don't run Dutch Master nutes, I would absolutely suggest you use DM Zone. It's for the tank/ rez... I've never dealt with algae or root rot or any of that stuff. Plus I swear the Zone makes the surface tension in the water less... so the bubbles are smaller, and I would imagine that would lead to more Dissolved Oxygen in the water. Also it's cheap. Costs me $27 for a Liter at the hydro store... and at 1 ml/ gal... that's 1,000 gallons worth.

Lastly, I think silica is a great great additive to use. DM makes one, but it don't matter what brand you use, it's great stuff (IMO). It makes the plants stronger. Bolsters the cell walls, making the plants less susceptible to disease and pests.

So yea, I like DM... but whatever you choose, you should check out DM Zone, and any brand silica.

EDIT: I think we all know... but just in case someone don't... if you are using RO water, you need to use some brand of Cal-Mag.

I've also heard the same advice about Superthrive, h2o2 or tea will fix the algae/bacteria problems. Don't use it in flower, it'll stress and possibly herm your girls. Mine should be in Monday.. getting a late start on it.

Awesome info Jig! The hydro store I recently discovered had the whole Dutchmaster lineup I do believe. I stood there for at least 30 mins just looking over ingredients in shit lulz. I'll definately have to check out that DM Zone and the silica stuff as well. I don't use RO water just plain tap water, but I do a small dosage of Magical just for good luck ;)

Nice. Thanks for the input VO! I'm prolly gonna snag a small bottle of it for shits and giggles. And yea I agree about not using it during flower. More of a steroid for stressed out plants during veg. I'll for sure be looking to see/hear your results when you get your batch of it

Pics--> 1) Overall 2) Purple Wreck 3) Cheese 4) DK clone 5) BL

First thing first---> Veggies hangin out. I'm seeing excellent growth on the Purple Wreck and the Cheese seedlings both. The DK clone looks a little nute burnt, but she is rooted and her leaves seem to stay a steady green. I'm thinking it's just the wait for them to come back out of flower and bag into veg? My BL clone died :( She was doing good, but I checked on her yesterday and she started going downhill. She went dead limp today so I tossed her. If at first you dont succeed they say....I swapped out their rez yesterday and it was surprisingly warm today :/ Rawwrrrr

DK at Day 35 of bloom. I'm struggling getting good shots for you guys. Her canopy is so thick it's ridiculous, but the way she's growing makes me think that's just the way she is. I have a lot to learn about her should I choose to keep the strain...there was no way possible for me to spread out her middle canopy for bud shots. I tried for a few mins then gave up....that 600w gets hot yo lulz. I got some decent shots of her outside buds though to show how she's stacking up. Kinda weird that some of them are stacking up even below the screen and it just merges with w/e growth is standing up. The leafage in-between is what makes the product so damn hard to see lights on compared to lights off. She got a rez change today with full-strength nutes. I'll be weaning her off the nutes over the next 2 weeks for a decent flushing 3rd week of Feb. I'm giving her 100% nutes this week, 50% nutes next week and then the week after that will be ph'd water only. That puts me roughly around 8-9 weeks for a couple days of darkness and some ripening before chop ;)

I'm thinking that's a 9 week plant as the pistals dont look to be changing much yet. Looks lush though, beautuful. That close up really shows of how frosty she is. I bet you're loving all that light.

And one thought about the warm rez, maybe before another round of clones go in that tote you could paint it white, or cover it with paint, or panda film. Not sure if it would make any difference though... just an idea I had.

Great work bro.
