It hurts so bad right now all i wanna do is cry. cleaning and putting ointment today when i woke up made me tear up it hurt so bad just to wash it and soap it, much less rub my fingers all over it to lube it up.
no one mentions this part of a tattoo
Now picture reworking that tattoo this morning :o I did that 2wks ago on my little leg piece.... only made it through a few minutes and decided it would be best to wait til it healed up some to work on it again.

lol you think?! Holy shit you are crazy
meh, pain is temporary, and part of the process; but too much is too much... I'm actually dreading working on it again, but I HAVE to get more ink in there, and start filling in the solid parts. I think it is gonna look pretty damn good in the end; well, for a 2nd tattoo at least.... the smiley on my knee looks like shit ;p

I've been wanting to get a tattoo for so long, the pain part is the least of my worries. I'm more worried about having what I get done come out looking perfect, I'd hate to have a shitty looking tat.

its about finding the right artist. In my case, the guy who did mine did my friend, her best friend, and her mom and cousin, so she had a good idea about what he could and couldnt do. I doubted him till I saw his portfolio. He's very talented.
You need to research all the shops around you, like I did.

just wait til that incessant itching starts, lol... You'll be wishing it was just sore, that itch gets mean for a few days.

fuck... and I have acrylic nails too... I almost want to take my nails off when the itching starts, so I dont do any damage to it when it starts to itch.

NO SCRATCHING... thats the worst part; all you can do is pat/slap it.

my first tat was a tribal on my spine right under my shoulder blades..... I looked like an autistic masochist, but the only way I found to "scratch" it was to smack my back against the wall repeatedly :p

fuck me! noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why dont people ever include this in their warnings? they only ever warn about the pain of the tattoo, but not about afterwards

lol... It's not that bad, just annoying for about 2days or so... just like the soreness. None of the downsides are enough to throw most off of getting another.... and another... and, well, you get it. :D

I have 2 on my shoulders. As a 40 yr old I still like them. They can be covered up or shown off as and when needed.

so quick question... I apply about a pea sized amount of aquaphor to my tattoo, then I add a little more if it doesnt spread. takes about 2 hours for it not to be wet any more, and its absorbed into my skin. So I reapply the same amount.
Am I using too much? I just dont want it to dry out and im trying to keep it moist without saturating it

Remember, it costs about 5X as much to remove one than to get one so start saving your $$$$$$ now.

i dont want this removed, its beautiful. Even if there is a point in my life where it is no longer relevant to me, or if it ages like I do, its part of my story.

I like it too for the most part, but it depends on the spot you're gettin it on..... I finally got the balls to do a lil 2in 'bloodline' on my ribs to see if its as bad as folks say, and my god, it IS!! I'm still getting my rib piece, but I have to think really hard about what is deserved to go there in such a painful spot.
Rib cage is nothing man. Try the throat or the side of your skull. I got a "cfh" on my skull after dimebags death(a show I was supposed to be at) and it was incredibly painful beyond belief.
