Looking good there Tmac! To the haters out there, this is a prime example for why some of us use bennies even without slime. "If you're treating it, you've already lost the battle." LOL so untrue... that root ball wouldn't be half as full without some myco up in that rez! good shit tmac, thanks for posting

Right? I like using it as a preventative effect mostly though. Even though my roots are that big and well established, I still will continue to use it because I just like having the security of knowing whats in my reservoir, instead of chancing anaerobic pathogens colonizing. The big roots are just a plus, imo. ;D Healthy, big roots = Healthy, big fruits. lol I am and will be
forever a fan of beneficial bacteria and fungi. <3 My plant seems to like them too.
This sound awsome im gonna try it out i dont have the slime my roots are a bit brown probably because of high temps, soryy i read a lot of this but not all 160 pages lol. The original post you can now make it just MycoGrow Soluble and Ancient Forest EWC. Can someone list the updated steps to make this?

Wow your roots look ten times better than my buddy's DWC. I keep trying to tell him his roots shouldn't be brown like that but what do I know.

Hey heisnberg I got a very important question, I figure I can ask you because you and HR hands down helped me with the tea. So I've been battling gnats now, pretty much got them under control. But now I'm seeing root aphids. Do you know of a product that I can use that would help get rid of them? I read that I could use bayer advanced so I'm thinking about getting that tomorrow an trying it out? Btw I'm runnin with coco and I'm 16 days into flower.

So I checked out the front pots with a flash light an it looks like the bugs might of died with the combo of plant vitality and ortho spray. I'm not gonna take any chances so I'm going to still buy the bayer advanced, and probably some dr doom lol. I can't afford to let this harvest go. Weeds to expensive theses days for the amount I consume daily. The reason why I think they died is because out of the bugs I did see I only saw one crawling, the others looked like they flipped over into their backs. I also sprayed down the floor, cracks, walls, and some parts of the equipment. If you give em an inch, they'll take the entire room.

if you can see the root aphids on the surface, it means they have matured a bit after eating your roots in the coco for a while. the damage may already be done. when i ran into this problem i made a simple spray/drench with some hot peppers from the garden, boiled, and sprayed. check out the article here on RIU for more info, look for calibuzz's habanero spray. good luck, hope this helps.

Honestly, I believe most here would be far better off in soil. You'd get a better tasting product and get far more yield and I do DWC. DWC should be mainly done in the North unless you can cool your room well. Most of these root rot problems have to do with warm water and using clogged air stones.

Totaly right bond and tmac u should see my buds and rootmass in my system there like 2L bottles of juice the buds at least 3oz dry some of them, and the roots are like a polar bear rug! Il post pics up soon i have a grow show if u wanna check it out, also ive only used it as preventative a brew of ewc great white and mollases only! Every 5 days! Worked wonders!

Tell him to invest in some bennies! They work wonders and make the plant 10x healthier, imo.
Just started my brew tonight. 2 gallons distilled water, 2 handfuls AF, 3 tsp of mycogrow, 1 tsp organic molasses. I'll post results a couple days after I inoculate. My girls are still big and bushy, but getting droopy and some yellow leafs. They've stopped all flower production. I'm 18 days in to flower and have now been fighting for 10 days.
What type of ill side affects should I see if they recover? Less yield, longer flower time?

for those that like this type of tea there's a product by xtreme gardening( I tend to like all their stuff) called xtreme tea brew. pop the bag in a bucket of dechlorinated water , toss in a airstone, empty the activator packet in the bucket and 24 hours later you're ready to go. I picked up a sample at my fave hydro store (thanks J!) and its about 12 hours off being ready but I'm giving it a little extra time due to its cold here and the aquarium heater is tied up in the cloner. In moments this tea made the nice clear water a dark brown, looks to be some good stuff and very reasonably priced. after you're done brewing you just toss the teabag , clean out the bucket and stone for next week.I doubt that I ever use this tea in hydro but I've been doing a little soil on the side and as long as I'm doing some soil I'll brew a tea or use a ready made powder of some type.I just recently started brewing again and have to say ewc and the whole filtering process is messy. xtreme gardening solves that.

As far as people that have rinsing roots and flushing in their regiment.. Would you say it's still necessary to rinse the roots (every 3 weeks with fox farms sledgehammer is my current practice). And also if and when flushing, would you just run water with tea as opposed to just water? I inoculated last night and added nutes this afternoon, ph'd to 5.7, now I wait...

Don't run the tea when you are using plain water during your final flush stage, it's not necessary this late in the game. Sledgehammer is a flushing agent. Rinsing your roots with this every 3 weeks will just flush out localized nutrients, and disrupt the growth cycle. It could also break the myco 'chains'. It's not necessary to flush during a grow unless your rez is totally screwed up pH- or TDS- wise (PPM). Flush at the end only IMO.
