my point is i have no idea what numbers we are talking about. i was just saying im interested in the field as it would a nice way to make money and help at the same time. which seems like a win-win.

i really dont know which direction i wanna go really. i just need to start moving in one direction for sure and i know many will say, "just get the basic courses out of the way" but i dont wanna do that then still end up where i am now, confused about which way to go.

no. im still working in the mmj field for a coop/club but its not stable enough for me. Hell i hide my profession from all my friends and over half of my family because its often "frowned upon". im just saying i want to quit sometime in the near future because it is pretty dangerous overall compared to a "normal" job if that makes sense. i do like it though but i dont wanna put my fam or future kids through heartache seeing their relative/dad go to jail or tied up in legal bullshit.

I went to MSU. One of the top Agricultural schools in the world. These are some of the areas that cover AG careers. For some reason floriculture isn't listed, but I know that it is there. A good number of the floriculture interns end up working in Disney World, greenhouse and floriculture production.

If you like working outside and you have a feel for it. Then something in the AG world might be for you. Did you know there is a career called, Crop Scouts. After you're thoroughly trained to identify diseases and pests, etc., your job is to go out in a farmers fields and diagnosis or predict what diseases or insects he might have or acquire. You, also, make recommendations for controls. Quite an interesting to say the very lest. And no 2 days are a like.

If you want a job that's in demand and will remain that way, choose a hard science that's also practical. Genetic engineering is the wave of the future (not that I agree with it necessarily) in biotech. Nanotechnology is another huge field of growth. Engineering degrees are highly valuable and highly in demand.

Or you could be more practical and become a welder/electrician. But the demand for these professions varies depending on your location and the economy more than an engineering gig would. Mathematics degrees are also highly sought after (currently the best paid Undergrad degree on avg). For example, the oil companies in Alberta Canada will instantly hire you for a high paying job that requires a lot of critical thinking if you have a math degree because it shows your ability to reason and sort things out is very high.

Don't get a liberal arts degree unless you want to be unemployed for the rest of your life or working the exact kind of jobs you hate except + a lot of debt.

that right there alone sounds pretty good to me as i wouldn't be dependent on the weather or how well my own crops were going...rather aide someone else in disease/bug prevention/detection. i didnt know such a job exists. could this be found at a JR college or community college or do i have to go to an actual university and get a BA or Major?

many of u dont know what it takes to be a (real produce) farmer hell i dont.. i live in a huge agricultural community, and talk about stress mother nature is a beast and can bankrupt you faster than a charlie sheen coke habit , its not your average joe schmoe grow, you have hundreds of workers to pay and acres upon acres of farmland to till, irrigate,transplant then how do you irrigate it? drill a well $70,000 for a well my bro just drilled last week lmao , and farmers pay that outta pocket to water a fielda o cauliflower or strawberries or grapes, your not outside with a garden ho soakin up some sun your tryin to unstick your truck from 3 ft of mudd(fun not everyday) while its raining and you got other shit to finish before it kills your crop... get a operators licence, or certification of some sort then even then your still not "job secure" the best thing i can say, i make YOU/ YOURSELF an valuable asset to whomever/ wherever you are

over the past few years ive gotten pretty good at growing mj at one point i tried getting on as a grower for a club thats harder than you'd imagine. lol

You interview them about what they really, really want. Like edible ferns, when the ferns are unrolling you cut the budding branch (they are perennials so you only have to plant them once). They are delicious. Specialty heirloom melons, etc.

look into well drilling... machinist, metal fabrication, i did that for a long time metal fab, but i got sick of being covered in grease all the time, now im in an airconditioned office, i misss the money i made doing metal fab and all the FUN it wasworking/problemsolving , but love having TONS of energy to F@CK my lady, and run with my dog.

I don't disagree with your notion, but actually farmers right now are doing quite well due to high food prices that are only going to continue to rise. So it's a viable option. The plus side to being a farmer is if you have the initial capital you can become quite self sufficient and get off the grid too.

oh i wasn't looking for the advice on the woman thing. i think i know what i have to do (gtfo of the "relationship") but i cant now. im stuck and i know it. if i were to talk away now i'd end up broke...like REALLY broke not just what people say when they don't have a lot of money. reason being is the person im in the "relationship" with happens to be related to the person who employs me...so if i cut the cord on that i cut the cord on my job which is the only one i could find in this area that pays above min. wage or was willing to interview me.

hmm. its really that simple? can you give a guesstimate on avg what something like that would pay month to month? i know giving a set answer wont be easy but id like to know what im facing. i love to grow specialty crops and at least this would be a 100% legal one so there wouldnt be much of a learning curve other than learning how to grow them in comparison to mj.
