I love it when someone asks for advice and then argues with everyone and explains how the helpers are wrong.

"well, I know my soil is good because I got it from my garden and my tomatos LOVED it, I dont have a ph measuring device, but I dont need one because I know my water is good and I give the bottle reccomended amounts every day. Its not a nutrient defficiency because I gave it some fish emulsion two weeks ago and its still yellow. And I CaAN get a pound from my 400 hps because I'm pretty sure I'll be good at this. Also, how do you know if its a male or not??"

And then you notice they have 1500 posts. Makes you wonder how much "quality" information they have been giving out

Don't let post count decide who you listen to.
half the people on here with 1k+ posts dont know shit.
half the people with 10 post counts know more than most.

gotta figure, the majority of people who SERIOUSLY grow wont broadcast it on the internet.

Haters are gonna hate, no matter what. I don't know why Watchhowidoit is so jealous of me but he is. He wants my ninja / jedi powers for himself but I know he is of the dark side and would use his powers for evil. Yep, agreed that most BIG growers would not even consider posting here, but that's not to say that we don't have great growers here, even some big growers; I know several that grow well over a million bux worth a year. Post count and "rep" (WTF is that anyway?) is meaningless. Probably the best barometer is (1) a growers grow journals, (2) their advice given as a whole, (3) how long they've been a member here, (4) and if they are a former Overgrow member.

He is a regular ganja god; at least that's what I read on the bathroom wall at the RIU world headquarters. :)

Nothing beats advice from someone who has experience. Like a few others mentioned, I read all the books I could find, then found out in practice it isn't always the way the books say it would be. Different situations and conditions call for different approaches. I've got around 10 solid grows under my belt, and I'm far from an expert or master grower......but each time my grows improve from experience.

Too many responses to questions here are just someone repeating what they heard or read. When I answer a question, all I can do is share my particular experience relating to the question. It's not necessarily THE answer

Well said. No answer should be the answer, but several, good responses taken together can help. It's up to the readers to decide which posts to consider. We should give them more credit to be able to figure out who to listen to.

So-called Noobs have a right to try to answer any question, with what they heard or read, or actually tried. You can refute what they say, and give your opposing opinion. You can refute their idea without attacking them. All members should be treated with respect.

Just so you know, all of you are noobs to me. I was growing pot outdoors, indoors in soil and hydro for years before any pot-growing books came out. I learned on my own, and I've been helping other growers for 15 years, and I'm still learning.
