Bradley Manning’s Father Speaks Out Against Son’s Treatment

They can hold anyone for as long as they want EVEN if you are found innocent at trial, its Obama's newest Executive order signed into law March 11. So it matters not if he is found guilty or innocent, he will be locked up forever. Obama calls it "Extended Detention".

Yeah that "extended detention" can be a bitch....
I got that once a long time ago in grade school. No recess...Had to clap the chalk board erasers outside for like a whole week and write "I will not shoot spitballs at Sally" 100 times in cursive on that crazy lined elementary school paper before I was even good at it!

We even had a picture of George Washington on our classroom wall scowling down at us....spit balled that fucker too when teacher wasn't looking..... Then the principle issued a "no fly zone" edict and there was much collateral damage.

Yes indeed.. Manning may well have done something but in the days of Patriot act one can languish in prison indefinably.

He has been moved to Leavenworth I understand. He should have a better routine there.

I am for a fair trial and an open one..

Funny that our President got punked with a cell phone.
Not Funny that he is guilty until proven innocent with that comment. Mr. President you exist above us and we expect better from you.

It is time we realize that our Government is moving towards legal torture on our own soil.

We have laws against this but I believe the Patriot Act repealed them to a greater degree.

Do you think it is fair to torture and otherwise punish those held for trial before they are convicted of any crime?
Do we care to coddle traitors that betray the trust of the American people? Think of it as a model to follow for those that are caught red-handed in treasonous activity. What purpose has wikileaks served? Manning had a chip on his shoulder and loose lips, both traits made him a horrible choice as an "intelligence" officer. He is paying the price, BOO-F*ing-HOO for him. He is lucky to be alive, Lincoln would have executed his ass without a trial...yet our government has stated that it will not seek the death penalty...he is getting off easy with plenty of time to reflect on his poor judgement and decision making skills.

He gets absolutely no sympathy from me. They have his fucking own admission. Does anyone here think that they dont have his ass in a sling? HE PUT HIMSELF there! His own friend turned him in. Good god.

The dude betrays the country, jeopardizes diplomatic efforts and American lives, then has the balls to admit it to his friend? And we are going to squabble over his "rights"? What about the multitude of people that have had their lives ruined as a result of his careless and borderline retarded actions? Media-fucking-circus that is not really focusing on the actual issue, but events surrounding the issue. Fact of the matter is that Manning fucked up. What more to it is there to be said?

What is true at this point is we just don't know what is true.

Perhaps Manning is guilty still, we America, need to hold to a high standard of law especially if this is a solder of conscience.

So let us not skip the learning about what was shared and what was exposed.
So far it is a crime to even read the "leaks" even if it is in the newspaper which makes no sense to me and this is the Government that will follow the will of our President.

So if we blur the line this time then rounding up the Jews is possible as well, in my opinion.

I have no doubt that there will be punishment for the guilty but we also know we punish the innocent. Best to do this right.

I'm curious as to the full effect this leak has had.

What exactly has resulted? I assume some embarrassing politics has come to the front.
Perhaps even a few learned they had spies they never suspected?

Remember now Bank Leaks and other important "Leaks" have also happened which we don't see as a crime.
Those banking leaks we needed to know about too.

So WikiLeaks may be the Man of the Year or the Man of the Decade.
Takes balls.. Manning deserves fair treatment and if guilty he has to do the time.

As for blind rage against all acts of Wiki-leaking? I don't think it's all bad honestly.
Rather up-lifting in my opinion. We all like the news.. Just what news is happening?

If I understand what this data was it was reports basically.
I understand that the security level of these reports wasn't all that high. So is it the same as the Rosenbergs?
Is it equal to atomic secrets which a watch maker and his wife were put to death for?

Is our Gestapo okay because it's ours? Did Manning act alone and why was his security clearance maintained when there were issues before.
Did Manning get used? Is he a pawn?

There are bigger questions than simple guilt.

Scramble the fucker's eggs. 2 seconds, no cost, problem solved.

The little fairy who wants to feed the guy lobster and give him nightly blow jobs can get fucked as well.

Just my opinion!

All we can do is imagine ourselves in prison some place and remember that if it was us we would hope for some humanity.
I am confused as to what is or is not American in the middle east wars.
So I cannot pull the switch so fast.

I can understand your point of view Girdweed..

In the old world manning could have endangered lives for leaking military intelligence, In todays world his alleged information leak likely hurt not a soul, did not endanger the lives of anyone, nor did it aide the enemy, I really do not believe that the old laws on this apply today with this case particularity, although he did perhaps violate laws and should be punished if found guilty, never mind the fact that he is likely not to get a fair trial, forget all that for a moment and I still smell rotten eggs, I think it is highly likely that this is a small part of a much bigger puzzle. We need whistle blowers like him to fight corruption and protect the interest of people and we shall witness what the government does with whistle blowers who will be deemed as terrorist in the future.

The bigger questions -
1)Why do they want us to see this?
2) Who Is WikiLeaks Really? Who are they working for?
3)Why?
4)What is the real definition of terrorism and how is the governments definition different from the peoples definition?

Mannings case is about something bigger than a simple open and shut case of treason/espionage, its about the information war, its about the 'war on terror', fear, propaganda, corruption, liberty, and more. There is just so many philosophical links for me to not question this, is the whole thing a setup or what? I have my questions and you should have some questions also. To regard this case and cases like this in the future as simply open and shut espionage is a danger to freedom and liberty for everyone across the world and I think it should be taken on a case by case basis heard before a proper judge and jury(at the least) and I do not believe a military tribunal is fair in this case when we are not in a real war (a war that directly effects the immediate security of our nation or the world IE WWII or The America Revolution). That being said, again he did sign his life away to the military, and perhaps he did endanger soldiers lives, perhaps he is guilty of a high miltarry crime and he should face their punishment if guilty but its the impact that this has on the people and our country which is of great importance.
