Our tax money goes to pay for soldiers that protect our country against war, makes sense.

We are running out of need for soldiers so why can't the government make doctors instead of soldiers?

I see what you're getting at but it's apples and oranges Buck. No amount of leftwing "logic" is going to make me change my views on this. I've been seriously injured many times. Most were line of duty injuries and were worker's comp covered. That aside, there are a lot of flaws with socialized medicine. I'm not willing to go down that road and sell out just because something is too expensive. Freedom loving Americans don't want people telling us what to do and we don't want handouts. If I take that handout, do I suddenly become beholden to the government? How about just dependent? I don't like either of those things!

LOL this must be coming from someone who never served one second in the military, because as someone who is a Vet, I can assure you it does not work that way. They don't send tanks, helicopters and ballistic missiles to take out a single person, if they did that they would run out of fuel/weapons in the first week. They do not have infinite resources no matter what your delusional mind may think. Besides if thats all it takes then we should have been done in Iraq and Afghanistan years almost 10 years ago. Alas those 32 million souls in Afghanistan ( Of which about 25,000 are Taliban)) have kept all our bombs, UAV's, Missiles, tanks, ships, hover craft, helicopters, jets and soldiers at bay for a decade.
