It Pisses Me Off...

I don't want the only people who have guns to be rounding me up for my free health care forced sterilization or vaccination
Then you should ask for single payer. They haven't been rounding up any of the people in the other 20-30 1st world countries that have single payer healthcare, and all the citizens actually have some form of healthcare. I'm pretty sure if you had beaucoup bucks, you could find elite health care in those countries as well.

Everyone in the U.S. can currently get medical treatment
What about Hurricane Katrina when they disarmed everyone and rounded them up and put them in the stadium? Or the japanese internment camps 60 years ago?-Second amendment?? Do you have any idea how many Americans have no second amendment rights? Many people in the U.S. are prohibited from owning Guns , many are even prohibited from possesing other means of self defense like pepper spray and self sufficiency like knives and Bow and Arrows.you will make up some excuse for this but it is a fact and you seem to have no grasp of the situation at hand. And how many who have not het lost their rights but do not excercise them?

I don't think you really have any idea what is going on and neither do most people in your position all you know is the propaganda you have been fed

So true -they make laws to prohibit the people they want to segragate from having means of defense so their easier to round up
Yes canada has a lower murder rate....and in the U.S. some states where more citizens have guns their is less crime like in N.H.- In mexico it is illegal for citizens to own guns.....how's that working out? In nazi germany they were also banned.
If you can't see this your not looking
I don't want the only people who have guns to be rounding me up for my free health care forced sterilization or vaccination.
As for the O.P. with all the numbers....I'm sure we could safely eliminate 90% of 'defense' spending if not for the fact that we have bought a lot of hardware for the military....and with all those guns i'm pretty sure they will insist they continue to recieve their payments

At what cost? First off, your statement is so full of holes. Emergency rooms now do the task of treating un-insured at our tax expence, and they only treat immediate diseases. cancer, diabete, COPD, a myriad of terminal diseases are not treated by emergency care and are killing people by the millions,.I believe you must be either ignorant or callous. I am being kept alive by modern medicine, drugs and healthy living. If I didn't have decent medical, I probably would have died by now, Diabetes, one of the not covered illnesses I have, would have killed me by now without treatment. There are millions with this disease that have no health coverage, it's sayonara for them.

I am dying and don't get medical treatment and you don't hear me complaining about it. your post it right the E.R. will treat me for free and bill me and ruin my credit but they won't treat what they call chronic health problems which they say I have but when I start leaking blood or puss their usually pretty good about patching me up and that seems like a pretty good deal and the wait isn't to bad maybe a couple hours. I want the right to be left alone and I understand that people with money get better treatment than I do I just don't like that to be enforced policy. I would like to be left alone to do what I please and If I could get rich then I could buy anything and If i'm poor I can't I get that. I just don't approve of policeys that limit an individuals ability to suceed or limits how poor you can be or how rich. I think trade with china and restrictions on emissions or building permits or vendors licences or buisness permits limit the potential and desire for an individual to succeed. I think we should all be born equal but what we do from their should be up to us

What's the difference between "protecting us" from "terrorism" and protecting us from disease or other health related issues?

One actively eliminates people, the other saves lives, yet the former is regarded as a "right" but the latter is not?

I think health care should be a right for a couple of reasons. One, I believe we prioritize our finances completely backwards, and two, because the average citizen cannot cover today's medical costs. Ex. I just got a physical, that's it, just a simple, random physical with two small samples of blood given, I have health insurance, they sent me the costs my insurance company covered and the total came out to be $894.00! How would someone on my salary - almost $10/hour - expect to cover that?

So in the same way that the average citizen cannot protect themselves from international terrorist plots and requires the governments support to do so, I think the average citizen cannot reasonably pay today's medical costs so they require the governments support to do so.

If it's between seeing if this cough I have is just a cold or eating tonight... I think I'd rather eat... and I think a lot of people feel the same way (especially if they have a family to support).

So you think the "millions of Americans armed to the teeth" could go up against American military firepower?
First off, it is expressly forbidden to use the military for enforcement of laws within the USA. Second, there are somewhere between 80 and 120 million US citizens who currently own firearms. There are only 1.4 million total US troops, many of which are not in combat roles at all, perhaps half could muster the balls to pick up a rifle and fire on their own countrymen. so 100 million vs 700,000. Pretty one sided, each soldier gonna have to kill over 100 armed and pissed off people.

As far as brainwashed. When an armed intruder bent on raping your wife while you watch and then killing you and your children comes, which one will you rather have? Health care or a .357 magnum? As far as healthcare being a right, You haven't thought about it much have you? I will not subsidize people who are unhealthy, don't exercise, eat every meal at McDonald's, speed in excess in their cars. Ride Motorcycles down the road doing wheelies at 100MPH, I will not subsidize Street bums who have alcohol problems, or a smoker who has emphysema but refuses to quit smoking. I will not subsidize those people who feel they can engage in any dangerous activity and would be more inclined to do so if the harm that may come to them will be repaired and the bill sent to someone else.

Sorry to hear about your medical condition, really. Now, help me understand why you think it alright to just let you die, when there may be some treatment that could prolong your life or at least make it more comfortable while you are dying as you have said. I believe that yes, medical should be a right in the richest nation on the planet, a lot of less wealthy societies provide medical for their citizens. I guess other governments just care about their citizens, while this one just says, "Go ahead and die Bitch". This government is for the rich, by the rich and of the rich, end of conversation. If you ain't rich, you ain't shit.

A RANDOM Physical? You didn't schedule that? You were just walking down the street minding your own business and out of nowhere a couple nurses ran out and stole your blood and some doctor grabbed your balls and told you to turn your head and cough? Remind me not to live where you do.

As far as prices go, the reason its so expensive? It has nothing to do with how much it costs to provide the service and everything to do with subsidizing all the freeloaders in the System. This causes prices to skyrocket and even more so when government keeps adding layer after layer of BS to the heap, causing the hospitals to have to spend more and more to comply. All costs are borne by the customer.

Yes, because who would appreciate a lower rate of gun violence

Is your murder rate lower?

You guys always claim that having the right to protect yourselves with firearms somehow discourages crime - which is utter bullshit

But don't let facts get in the way of your treasured, outdated tradition
Don't worry I won't....Cause when they come for me or my family they may kill me But a bunch of them are coming with me...At least I can defend myself, you'll have to just lay down and whatever happens, you won't be able to do nothin about it, just watch as they do whatever they want to you,,,, your kids and wife...

easy when you can lob bombs remotely with the press of a button. not to mention the tanks, helicopters, body armor, superior firepower and technology.

it would be pretty one sided....in favor of the us military. you would NEVER stand a chance, no matter how well yo organized those 100 million. guerilla warfare would be the best bet, and they would just bomb you out of your hiding spot.

hahahahahah, you are such a rube.

you paint such an emotionally upsetting picture, then use a broad brush to wipe over reality along with it.

how likely are you to watch your family perish at the hands of an intruder? now how likely are you to perish due to an easily treatable medical issue?

think about it, shit bird.

hahahahahahaha. you guys crack me up.

is this board replete with paranoid delusional schizophrenics that think that they are targets of some plot by the government? that someone is 'coming to get you'? and that a simple firearm will prevent all this, like magical fairy pixie dust?

so tell me, mr. big bad marine dude, who is coming to get you? who is coming to get me? or is your scenario a *delusion*?

you may want to get checked for ptsd. very common among those who have served, very often overlooked, very easily treated. use your socialist VA benefits that your fellow citizens pay for to get it taken care of.

Here the things I know its a small chance that someone comes in my house, but in these tuff times it seems to be happening more and more. So whats the harm if I am Armed? Why should only the bad guys and Cops have guns?

I won't even address the rest of your post as I think its improper for you to say what you said to me. And for me to answer the rest of it would bring me down to your level.
I would appricate it if you would refain from commenting on what you think is wrong with me, just because we look at things differently.

Ha you think those #'s are scary....You should look at what the US government paid to companies like KBR and Blackwater......sorry folks but the good ol USA that so many of you are so proud of has sold you a bill of goods.....soon there will be another national disaster and anyone who isn't on the preferred list will be spending an awful lot of time in a FEMA camp behind a very tall fence with lots of razor wire on top.
Here we go again.

"FEMA" camps are bullshit. No such thing. The conspiracy nutjobs have been saying this same thing for decades. Where are the stormtroops? Where are the millions of interned U.S. citizens? They don't need "FEMA" camps bro. They can just throw you into any one of several thousand prisons. Problem solved. ;-)

I don't have enough money to buy a Cadillac, the government should buy me one. You get the same answer I would get - make more money and get it yourself.

If the government weren't so 'involved' with health care to begin with - it wouldn't cost a thousand dollars to go to the doctor and it wouldn't be a big deal. Do you really need 15 years of school to give antibiotics without the flu? Yes, because otherwise you go to jail for practicing without a license.
