each 48" t8 tube floro 6500k bulb i have in the shoplight is 32 watt , there are 6 alltogether, u do the math

yeah, that's pretty good setup. my 2nd grow I hope to have enough money to get an HPS and grow some Haze. I'm going to try to get 1000watts but I'll settle for the best I can afford when the time comes

the bulb makes the difference...digital ballast can take both MH & HPS of similar wattages. However, there are the analog ballasts that are not, I happen to have a MH ballast and light set up for veg and a digital ballast with HPS for flower...if I wanted to I could get another MH bulb and flower with that...but I will take the extra 20K lumens and stay HPS.

yeah, just read a couple pages of hps vs mh and mh got severely ripped apart verbally.


god damn, the ballast are really expensive... I should ask for one for x-mas... lol, that would blow the operation and I haven't gotten a gift from anyone for x-mas in 4 years that wasn't a girfriend

that is a thick trunk.... lol why so big. does the strain really make a big difference? or did you really exercise that thing ( the buds that I think will form from that are going to be sick). I like the experiment thought. that's the type of shit I like to see.

my intentions for the slh clone is for it to be my bonsai mother , it will be an interesting centerpiece, maybe i could put it under a chandalier filled with incandescents when it is old enough , lol

A good light is worth it. I have spent a lot of time and money on my op, but it has been worth every penny (even the mistake-buys because of the experience gained).

I paid very close attention to fundamentals for my first year growing...now the last couple have been playing around and finding what works, whats easier, etc...to tell you the truth, once you create the right environment, nutes and strains become secondary factors imo...

You can find some good prices on complete light systems or separate ballasts here. It would be worth paying for a digital ballast system, or just ballast if you want to purchase separates, so you could use a MH for veg and an HPS for flower.

it's pitch black. so whatever you are trying to say. i don't get it. said it was pitch black and I don't know why it would effect anything. it's a spot... there is absolutely no light in the room anywhere,
