Once I harvest I could increase the lighting time for a week to allow it to catch up, would that work?

Sure you can. People do 12/12 from seed alot. It cuts out like a 1 - 3 weeks depending on strain(finishing times vary). BUT, in doing so, the plant does'nt reach it's peak maturity before flowering, so your compromising yeild and possibly potency as well for a quicker harvest time. I all comes down to what your looking to get out of it. Faster production, less quality/quantity.... or slower production, superior quality/quantity.

i've read that 12/12 from seed effects yield and potency more on indicas since sativas are more tropical in nature and the 12/12 cycle fits them better/matches up better with the natural light cycle.

sativas continue to grow and mature under 12/12 ex: get taller and more potent and indicas just focus on throwing out bud since to them 12/12 means oh shit it's about to get cold, i need to reproduce. thc doesn't really fit in AS MUCH at that point. I have also heard that 12/12 can cause hermies more often in indicas. 12/12 is more of a natural "tropical" light cycle that sativas are able to do more things with.

So even though I do not know the sex of them yet, I know that 2 are sativa and 3 are indica. Today There is a visible cone like object forming.

So can these be sexed yet. If so, I want to get the males out before it is to late.

you getting any pistils yet? can't really tell in the pic- If you arent and ball type formations are showing- you have a male that needs to be destroyed.

if you have a sativa- i was told that 12/12 is perfect for them due to haw much they stretch regardless of photoperiod. The indicas will gro to about 18 inches and form bud alond the main cola, kinda like a bud baseball bat. depending on the room you have to grow, might try vegging untill they are about ten inches to a foot tall. this way you are looking at 1.5 to 2 oz's when all is said and done. Good work so far for your first effort. The fact that you are on here trying to figure out what to do is a huge step in the right direction.

the first 2 pics look male but cant really tell by the pics. i also am on my first grow. Mine actually started showing sex before the were even a month old. As soon that happened i threw them into 12/12. im currently at day 26 of 12/12 and they are starting to pack on the sugars

Just an FYI to those who don't already know.. you shouldn't start counting flowering days/weeks until sex is shown. So if it already showed sex during veg, start counting oin day one of 12/12, otherwise wait for the sex to show and then start

So, I know there has been pics posted before on here showing male and female plants, but none of them are ever close ups, or at least big, clear photos. Does anyone have a sativa male and female picture?

Because if the first plant is male. I will take him out today. I just want to be sure, because the thing looks kinda like a mini cola. Thank you guys for all the help, I can't do this without you guys.

if the formations are pretty new you can wait untill they are a little more defined(like another week) to see if it is actually showing sex. I can't really tell 100% if they are males in the first two pics but what i can see it looks as tho you have two dudes.

the first two pics are the same plant. I had high hopes for it, cropped it and everything. When the lights come on today I will take a sniping to get a high quality picture. Then I will post it here, if it is identified as a male, then i will destroy him. Makes me sad, I thought out of all the plants that he would be a she.

P.s. My title is BS. I can't roll a decent joint to save my life. I just use a pipe. lol

Ok, so I took a snipping this morning and here is a close up. It has to be male, even those it looks like there is a cola, there are balls.

So I guess I have to destroy him today.
