ENTIRE EQUIPMENT LIST AND TOOLS NEED:

Frementer
Airlock.
Bottles.

Those recipies do explain the rest. And YES its as simple as pouring everything into frementer, stir, place lid and air lock, wait !!!!

I frement any where between 1 month and 3mths. Then throw it into bottles , wait another 2 weeks ...... stick it in fridge ... DRINK !!!....... 1 ltr later ( at around 12%) i will be ping ponging off walls - a quiet 750 mls dose the job and it tastes like fizzy apple juice ;)
And is very easy to drink. It works out to be about $1 a ltr after setup costs. And it will tke you 5 mins to prep a new batch.

sweet cheers man im totally getting one come payday. you ever put dope in the mix? :weed: i was thinking maybe not in the fermentation process but putting a few ounces of frosty trim into the barrel for the two weeks between fermenting and drinking so the alcohol extracts but doesn't get chance to go mouldy then strain and lose yourself for 3 days!?!?

rep playa!

Hey mate, seriously If you want a good drink forget about any "other additives" Keep it as simple as possible.
Me , I like a good smoke and a good drink ;)

Yes, "BUd" in mix will cause weird reactions Im sure, the least of which will be mold.

Keep it simple , I promise this will be an enlightening process and if your like me I now brew enough to supply family, friends and myself. I very rarely now buy booze.

This is seriously a simple process you wont regret trying :)

Ow and my setup costs are - $80 for first 30ltrs (which included buying equipment& ingredients )
Every 30 ltr barrel now cost $30 to refill. - Once I did my first, I now have 60ltrs on the go at any one time.

yeah it was only really for the joy of being able to drink something i made myself much the same as growing really but ever since i bought a couple of bottles of dope wine from someone i was totally hooked on the idea of making it myself. who knows ill probably find my feet with plain cider first then think on dope wine down the line.

DON - CIDER RECIPES

Award Winning Apfelwein Recipe (German Hard Cider) Apple Wine Recipe
Placed 1st in the Cider & Apple Wine category at the BJCP sanctioned Alamo Cerveza fest (out of 11 entries) and took 2nd place for Best of Show for the main category of Meads & Ciders (out of 50 entries).
Ingredients
5 Gallons 100% Apple Juice (No preservatives or additives) I use Tree Top Apple Juice
2 pounds of dextrose (corn sugar) in one pound bags
1 five gram packet of Montrachet Wine Yeast
Equipment
5 Gallon carboy (I use a Better Bottle)
carboy Cap or Stopper with Airlock
Funnel First sanitize the carboy, airlock, funnel, stopper or carboy cap.
Open one gallon bottle of apple juice and pour half of it into the carboy using the funnel.
Open one bag of Dextrose and carefully add it to the now half full bottle of apple juice. Shake well.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3, then go to step 5.
Pour in the mixture of Apple Juice and Dextrose from both bottles into the carboy.
Add all but 1 quart of remaining 3 gallons of apple juice to the carboy.
Open the packet of Montrachet Yeast and pour it into the neck of the funnel.
Use the remaining quart of juice to wash down any yeast that sticks. I am able to fit all but 3 ounces of apple juice into a 5 gallon Better Bottle. You may need to be patient to let the foam die down from all shaking and pouring.
Put your stopper or carboy cap on with an airlock and fill the airlock with cheap vodka. No bacteria will live in vodka and if you get suckback, you just boosted the abv.
There’s no need to worry about filling up a carboy so full when you use Montrachet wine yeast. There is no Kreuzen, just a thin layer of bubbles (
see here
). I'm able to fit all but 4 oz. of my five gallons in the bottle. Ferment at room temperature.

It will become cloudy in a couple of days and remain so for a few weeks. In the 4th week, the yeast will begin to drop out and it will become clear. After at least 4 weeks, you can keg or bottle, but it is ok to leave it in the carboy for another month or so. Racking to a secondary is not necessary. It ferments out very dry (less than 0.999, see here)

Apfelwein really improves with age, so if you can please let it sit in a carboy for up to 3 months before bottling or kegging'>kegging, then let it sit even longer. Here's what some folks think.

If you want to bottle and carbonate, ¾ cup of corn sugar will work fine. Use as you would carbonate a batch of beer.
Remember to reserve judgment till after 3 glasses. It grows on you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

and my altered recipe and pretty much ALL I DO now ! ;

30LTR CARBOY

- BRAGLOW APPLE CIDER HOME BREW - with cider yeast - 18ltr pack
- Black ROCK apple cider brew kit - with cider yeast - 18 ltr pack
- 8 LTR - premium pure apple juice
- 1/2 KG Demarara Sugar (toffee flavour)
- 1 kg DEXTROSE brew sugar
- 1 CUP CASTOR sugar
- 350ML AUSSIE Honey
- tiny pinch of citric acid
- Yeast nutrient
- Water to top up

Process: "dump it all in "

Fermented for about 2 1/2 months
Bottled with 1 1/2 teaspoon of Castor sugar.
Bottled for about 4 wks

g'day eza - very nice work m8 :)
I've just joined RIU and am very impressed with all the useful info. I've got two bagseeds growing outdoors - they're going along nicely but not as impressive as yours...but considering it is my first grow in more than a decade, I'm pretty happy with them. I'll take a few pics soon and post them.
BTW, I'm about 1hr south of Melb...you?
