hey barron, you can't go wrong with papaya. my next seed order will have some on the list. good luck with the new grow.
i added a couple of tablespoons of lime to each of my plants and flushed with tap water. the plants were not growing at all and some of the lower leaves were showing what i thought to be bugs but now i think it was nute lock out from ph. the girls are already looking better.
the flower room got a new heater, the temps dropped to 39f the other night. set the thremostat to 65 the lowest setting that it has. my wife would kill me if she knew the flower room is warmer than the house, i keep the thermostat set at 60 and turn it off during the night. put a sweater on if your cold....
not sure what is up with the pics, i'll get some posted later

the garden lime was my missing link for my potting soil mix. the girls are looking green and healthy.

all but 1 of the 8 cuttings have rooted. 7 of them in dirt and doing great.

last summer i threw a bunch of bag seed into the compost pile, when the cabbage got planted some of that compost got used. there is a single mj plant amongst the cabbage growing. we've had several freezing nights and it keeps growing.

i bought myself a diamond grinder and pollen press. how have i made it thru life without a grinder? worth its weight in gold!

Yeah dude... no pics. You uploading to another site and posting here? Do you have the permission set to public?

Anyways nice to see you keeping a journal again. I'll be here for the ride.

Hope all is well brother.

hope the pic issue is taken care of. i was dealing with a bout of paranoia and changed some settings, had to change them back.

after watering the girls i got to thinking about the way i care for them and the way i do my vegtable garden, never had a ph problem with any of my veggies and when i water them i have a water hose in 1 hand and a joint in the other. the only plants i have a ph problem with are the ones that i measure. i have a good quality digital meter that i keep calibrated so i can't blame that. so i'm going to do a side by side with 2 clones. 1 will get its feed ph'd to 6.8 every time and the other will get whatever it is.

Sweet kev. Love the secret weed by the cabbage. Shame about the squash. I didn't know it got that cold where you are. That's mountain weather.

The chicks look happy. Are they going to grow up to be eaten, lay eggs? What do you do with chickens?

And of course... it's nice to see your grow box again. The plants look nice.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing more. Especially the mystery of the soil pH.

hey jig,
the chickens all started last spring when my daughters' mothers in law gave me a truck load of manure to mix in my compost, it made for some nice soil to grow some good eating vegtables, and the eggs are a sweet bonus. wish i could get away with growing my girls outside. by the way i got the chicks moved into the coop deville and out of the new veg closet yesterday. i slammed the last nail into it today. but i keep thinking there is enough room in the new hen house for a 4x4 grow closet and it is back in the pasture away from the house. just an idea that that will get set in motion soon. that would take care of 100% of my odor problems.
it gets cold here but it doesn't stay cold, or what i would call cold, in the 50's. great working weather. that plant made it thru 3 nights well below freezing, as far as the squash goes, i was glad to see it dead. thought i would turn into a squash i was eating so much.

hey jester, you want to keep your chicks nice and warm the first couple of months of their life, after that all they need is shelter and some warm straw for bedding.

it's another cold day and i have plenty of outside work to do and can't blow it off, better than working in 100+ temps so i will not bitch. the more i think about it, i need to bake some breads and do some laundry instead of freezing.

need to water the girls today, i'll post pics later:peace:

are you gonna try and grow in the chicken coup with the chicks still in there? or would the chickens eat the plants and get all goofy

i'll build a closet in the hen house. you do have to keep them separate, they will eat anything. i use to get rid of the male plants this way.

the water out of the tap measured 6.9 ph with 250 ppm so all the vegging plants got straight tap water. the flowering plants got 3 tsp of tiger bloom and a ounce of molasses mixed to 2 gals water

i ordered some urban poison and snow white from nirvana, got an e-mail this morning telling me they are on the way. everything else is looking the same

You've got a beautiful setup dude. It is unfortunate and not understandable y people have not shown more interest in this thread. Just wanted to say I'm loving it tho. Sucks it takes 3+ month 12/12, suprised with all that you've got going on you didn't go hydro. Any particular reason?
