Stepping into the hydro world. Nice. My last grow used the same 5 gal buckets.

Keep the water level for right now about 1/2 inch below the net pots. The airstones should kick up enough splashes to keep the plants happy... and if you just put the water up to them they will have no reason to grow roots.

Easy nutes that people like are General Hydroponic 3 part nutes. You will probably also want some kind of tank cleaner. I use Dutch Master - Zone. Some poeple use Hydrogen peroxide.

You want your water temps to stay below 74. And pH should be around 5.8.

Exciting stuff bud.

Link to my Vert grow is in my sig... should have some info on the buckets somewhere... might be a few pages in.

Let me know questios you have.

thanks for the info jig, i've been using the bubble stuff for my cuttings with great success so i thought i would give it a whirl and so far i'm glad i did. the water temps shouldn't be a problem since i keep my closet with a temp of 72 with lights on and 65 with lights out. so far they have been getting the blue mg mixed at different strengths according to age and needs, the oldest has been getting a dose measuring 1400 on the tdc meter, the younger 2 plants are in the 600 neighborhood and the cuttings are in straight tap water, everything has been ph'd to 5.7. making a trip into the big city saturday to pick up some nutes and another bag of clay balls.

who else is ready for spring? i've been digging and tilling for the past few weeks, got some onions, garlic, and plenty of strawberrys in the dirt. my pool table is covered in garden supplies and every type of vegtable seed needed for my diet plus a few fruits. the compost piles have enough worms to keep the chickens fed and my dirt sweet enough that i may get the blue ribbon for my watermelon at the county fair this year.....i've got spring fever!!!!

I can't wait for spring. Not exactly a fan of winter. Sure it's pretty, but it's fuckin cold! We still have 2ft of snow on the ground so it'll be a while before there's talk of gardening around here. :(

Yeah... we just got 2 feet of snow in the past 24 hours. Spring is a far away thought now.

I'm pulling for the watermelon to bring home the ribbon. :bigjoint:

got the girls out of the miricale grow and into some general hydroponic nutes, i must have mixed one bucket way to strong, the plant looks like it may be the first adult plant that i loose, the other 3 couldn't be doing better. the ugly one got put into a bucket of water with a few drops of superthrive this morning.
