gotcha well I know there is a filter side that has intake part.. Lemme check to see if there is another part. and if I mold a hose that same hose goes to the y splitter and then ducting into attic? sO i only be using like 8 ' feet of ducting.

Its starting to make sense, and I highly appreciate you helping me out.. as its winter.. and I hate to think about summer and temps acting up.. its bad enough my central ac cant cool my house in summer let alone a grow room lol. You think the way this is setup that the grow room have any issues at all in summer? seeing how the central air is sealed off.

remember now that you sealed that room the portable ac is the only source of ac because the central air vent is closed. the cental air wont have to cool your grow the portable has to carry the entire load,

its your luck day, lolol i live in florida and i bought a poorly insulated house with a 25 year old ac that just died and im sitting in a cold room and my plants are cold and my electric bill is smaller ill tell you how. i did three years of experimenting im like a superstar now, i had thermometers all over my house numbered and records kept as changes were made

nice to know.. i was just thinking when i went to check for the other intake.. I have 2 intakes in between my exhaust. My top intake is the one with filter. Below the exhaust is my intake for the whatever it was you said. That is what I need to attach my hose to, right>? which I was thinking how would I have it attached as I cant have that with the same as the exhaust duct, since it pull the exhaust air only.

your portabe will keep that room cold if you modify and do all other things by itself in the summer but it could labor if not modified. those things bring in almost as much hot air into a room as it puts cold air. if you run a comparison test. let the room get warm. cool it with unmodified ac and time it to see how long it takes to drop temp 15 degrees. the hook up modification. reheat room. cool room again. your jaw will drop i promise you

for practice get a box. hold open end to the ac and see how it lines up. cut the box to fit ait tight or as close as you can. use duct tape to seal it up. there is hardly any air pressure so it not going to be that hard. when you get it all sealed up and hardly any air comes out exhaust you can now cut a 6in hole in box and insert 6in hose tape that up. if you use a good box you can leave it on.

your right about it creating heat.. which is way i have it half divided by 6 mil panda film. So the cool air is contained in a 6 x 6 spot which includes the grow closet with the lights. But if the attic is hot where wouldnt the ac be creating hot air? I thought the air it gets it from it has to be decent temp... or no?

you dont want super heated air but if you use your head and run your hoses smartly looking for fresh air you will be fine. it over 105 degrees here in summer and the ac works but not as efficient but it still works. i used bigger hoses on my ac so i could run longer lengths. i ran exhaust in 1 direction and i put my intake as close to soffit or gable vent for fresh air.

i think your unit has a 6in hose just like mine. i used 7 in insulated for my 1100btu and 1000 btu unit. in jumped to 8in insulated on my 1300btu unit. i did it to both hoses. the exhaust side get warm so insulated helps. it's $35 for 25ft so i put it on intake to.

all you need to do on exhaust side is shorten factory hose and slip it into the larger hose , like a straw into a pipe

so we talking ducting or hose? just to make sure we are on the same page.

This is what i have.

insulated hose which is different from insulated ducting.. Care to explain a good way to rig the hose to the ac unit? And the length of hose from unit to attic will not be a problem?
