hose is flexible. ducting is sheet metal. i used cardboard box to make a prototype adapter. then i bought a piece of duct work adapter that reduces 10in hose 8in hose. a metal tube tat is 10 in on 1 end and 8 on the other end. its like a foot long. its normally used to attach a 10in hose to a 8 in hose. i cut and bent it so it would fit like the prototype adapter. then i used tiny little short screws to hold it on and duct tape to seal it up. make sure you look where your screws go so you dont damage any thing

ok well when I say ducting i mean the flexible metal duct... the stuff that has play with it... it comes in insulated wrapped with fiberglass and silver linen type material. Or it comes by itself. Look at my pic, which is what i have.

this is what i am referring too when I say ducting.. this comes in insulated as well and in different sizes.. you can also attach a inline fan to help move air when working with long llengths.

8 in insulated is the very best way but other will work. when your counting pennys having a hot exhaust hose radiating heat into your grow area starts to add up. so yea 8in insulated is the best way
