I did this cold turkey. No patches, gum or any other crutch.

I have noticed a different level of awareness.
good job man. I've known so many people to try and fail, it usually takes a massive realization or just a strong need for change in ones life. quitting will certainly deliver that. and more.

you will feel much better only allowing the sweet marijuana smoke into your lungs ;).

I'm glad to hear that you quit, Solstice. You made a really good decision. You don't need to concern yourself with them anymore! You won't start again. I don't know you, but you have made it five days, and you know why you are quitting. You can expect a little more balance in your head from now on.
Additionally:
1)Drop your old $3.5-$7 daily cigarette expenditure that you just eliminated in a jar for a couple of months...get an idea of how much cash you are going to be saving...a fuckload.
2)I find almost without exception that smokers are not able to appreciate the full effects of vaporizing. I would give it a shot...it is a whole new world of clean high when your body isn't fighting off a bunch of burnt plant material.

never the same as smoking weed though. I don't think you get as much CBD through vaporizing so you don't experience much of a stoney high but a clearheaded high.

I quit in may of 08 almost a year now . the first thing that you will really appreciate is the taste of food. The second is being able to wake up in the morning and not hack out an oyster. good luck!!

Thank you to all that stoppped in to offer words of encouragement. I'm into day 12 now and haven't killed anyone and still have most of my friends left.

I thought that I remember quitting getting easier as the days go by. The craving seems to be getting worse even though I know it's all in my head. One thing that I don't miss is hacking up that escargot in the morning!

A couple of good things came of this. My brother and another good friend of mine have hopped on my band wagon and are shaking that nasty habit with me. They are a few days behind me and both have "slipped" but got right back up and on the wagon.

Thanks again!

Everyone quits for their own reasons . some quit because their gf says so . others quit because it's trendy (this week it's cool). Others quit because they have to. I quit because I had to, not because I wanted to, if it was my choice i'd still be smokin but I can't. sometimes the best way to quit anything is because you have to, not because you want to , but just because...

I had to have angioplasty at 29 from just 10 years of smoking on and off. I almost died from it.

Bad, bad shit. Quit it or you die a painful, shameful death. Forget cancer. Its the cardiovascular killing element that kills most smokers.
