LOL UK come out on top? That makes no sense, your colleges have been around for 500 years compered to our 150 with harvard and less than 100 on the others, Your last sentance makes absolutely no sense.... "You have the best universities but because i want to, yours dont really count...."
cmon bro grow up.
You are a dumbo arent you. My point was that you have 6 in the top 10 we have 4. You have a population 4 times greater and a gdp well beyond that of ours. Surely you should have 10/10 uni's in the top 10???? What I said makes complete objective sense.

once again your point is pointless... we are talking about universities and you come up with a statistic about middle schoolers.... cmon bro you gotta be better than that or are you in that 9.4%?

No my friend I have a Bachelors degree in Botany 1st class and a Bachelors degree in History 1st class. I am currently studying a Masters in History and I run 2 businesses very successfully. A degree at a Uk Uni takes 3 years and a Masters takes a year, you cant do a masters without a good degree. I am an educated travelled man. You are a traveled man, your education I have doubts about.Educated debate should be formed on fact not political bias, on that basis there is only one educated man in this argument. You just carry a tarring brush around with a template saying 'liberal' to paint over everywhere you go.

a degree takes 3 yrs and a masters takes an additional 1? ok... in the US a degree takes 4 years and a masters takes another 3 on top of that... so once again i believe your point is moot and i have had more schooling than you, if the number of years stated above was correct. lol.

Direct comparisons are not relevant as teaching systems are unimportant, outcome and learning is.

i notice you forgot to mention notre dame..one of the finest business schools in the world.you forgot vanderbuilt and dartmouth..rose hullman and purdue.both superior engineering universitys..matter of fact rose hullman is one of the most expensive engineering schools to attend in the USA..most expensive schools period.
everyone of our states has a fine state university program. i can go on forever telling you about ALL of the excellent universitys we have..many of them in my opinion rank much higher in prestige than harvard or yale.
my brother attended dartmouth university..a more prestigous university than yale, harvard or princeton.
you probably have never heard of it.it is known only amongst americans as the best university in the country.
they only accept the best minds in the country into it,around 1100 student a year
it is very very difficult to get into it.
my brother had nelson rockeffelers dorm room and is fraternity brothers with the rockafflers.

And according to your own words the outcome is that universities in the US are superior by 6:4. So once again your point is moot.

The far more relevant statistic would be college students by per capita. here is the top ten. Guess who didn't make it?

1Canada5,997
2South Korea5,609
3Australia5,552
4United States5,339
5New Zealand4,508

8Spain4,017
9Ireland3,618

It's about college opportunity to the population. That is why they come. Of course the US leads the pack by a wide margin in the top 100 universities globally as well.

quality over quantity any time! I dont understand how a supposedly educated traveled man cant see both sides of any argument, even if you dont agree with them. On a tangent, are you religious?

Drgreenz

No religion is an institution, institutions breed corruption and a hunger for power. I have faith yes, but I would not fall under any one religion, I have done my own extensive research into the major world faiths throughout history and have my own conclusions.

Our list of top 100 universities and colleges in the world is displayed below. This top colleges and universities list has been created after careful consideration and evaluation of numerous factors, including reputation, competitiveness, admissions criteria, etc. Like all lists of top universities and colleges, the criteria used to determine rank is somewhat subjective. We highly recommend that you use our list of top 100 universities and colleges as a rough guide. Yet another poor use of 'PROOF' lol.

Thats called an "unbiased" table, you go to someone that is not affiliated with any one orgnization and ask them for their own research.

and you know what..some of the best colleges we have are still not on the list.

I believe they consider number of students/applications as well which woul dcut out many smaller better schools. I know any list will be flawed but the point is we are always the biggest and best on any list out there.

This is the comment that broke the camels back. I wont waste any more of 'our' time as your 'mines bigger than yours attitude' is both juvenile and unfortunately typical.

Thats funny because a moment ago you said it was 'proof'
go to google and type "top 100 ranked universities in the world" look at every single list that pops up on every single page, they may all very a little bit but the fact remains that the US is always the major player trumping all others in sheer numbers and where those numbers are in the list.
