97% of growers appreciate your confidence and simple "how-to" journal. Not everyone has the time or ambition to tackle multiple bottles or concentrates. Thank you for sharing. I will be sure to take the time as you have to share my own simple amendments and water approach to help the next grower.

Solo Cup Containers :

This will be a brief example of solo cup containers for germination. I will post more examples later on in thread as i move grows around. But a no nonsense way to get shit started

1. Solo cup - Any brand / Any Size . I dont use clear or tinted variations of solo cups. Some growers use them as a “ inner “ cup to the regular red solo. Whatever floats your boat :bigjoint:

2. Soil : I reuse soil from my harvest containers. I dont get a lot left from them but for a few cups it works. Used soil will be somewhat milder to its original mix - perfect for germination. I do not add any nutes to it only myco. I pre dampen prior to planting seed.

Any light soil / mild potting mix will work also if you have already. Light warrior comes to mind.

3. Seed : As you can see , i merely presoak seeds in water - taproot pops and its off to the races. Some growers have their preferred method of germination- paper towel / rooters or direct to soil. I merely dig a small cavity and literally pour it in.

Strain shown ( “ O “ ) is a Deep Chunk cross i messed around with and like the smoke.

As this thread gains some traction- i will post some “ layered “ approaches to solo cups - even some variations for those that like to run solo cup competitions.

Stay Tuned.
dude this is what i have searching for oh my lord you are my hero! I knew this was simpler than it’s made out to be! The biggest limiting factors are dependent on where you live. Too many people talk about nutrients and soil when I’d say the biggest thing people neglect is CO2. CO2 allows the plants to do more since it’s part of how all plants grow. It lets them withstand higher heats and it helps them vegetate more. I’ve not seen a single person talking about CO2 in any part of the internet. I wonder what some of these crazy yields would look like bolstered by CO2? Maybe that’s part of their secret?

Budz, this was a very good read thanks man. Amazon should be giving you a cut- I just ordered the ingredients for this recipe. Going to give it a go for my first indoor grow (auto) in ~15ish years. Grew some autos outdoors last two seasons, real half ass effort. Gearing up for effort this outdoor season. I appreciate the comments about the cartoon whatever the hells and fancy sticker/stupid name products that seem to have taken over the weed game since my hiatus. Seems the mustache twirling hipsters that turned beer into “craft brewing” and $16 4 packs are after the weed world now.

PS I’m not peeing on anything tho
I say this to anyone - forget the frosted flake offerings. Look at original strains ( if you can find them ) lol.

Many would agree on some these :
OG KUSH
CHEM DOG
SOUR D
MASTER KUSH
BLUE DREAM
GG4
SKUNK
GHOST TRAIN
SSH
AFGHANI
DURBAN POISON
ROMULAN
CHOCOLATE THAI
MEXICAN RED
DJ Short Blueberry
Chocolope
Old Brick Weed Acapulco Gold
and a bunch more.

No butter toffee cookies or other bullshit TikTok name.
Oh my lanta man you are literally my idol right now ! You listed all the strains I wanna eventually grow so I can breed my own cross of Blueberry and a kush of some kind. I hate the BS fancy strains where you gotta look it up and it’s a cross between two more strains with stupid names and it goes on and on. I shouldn’t have to be a doctor in genealogy to know what I’m smoking!

I looked into Sensi Seeds after learning about the history of Sam and Skunk 1. They sell here in the US and I want to get some feminized Skunk #1 to experience the strain that made britain insane lol Do you know anything about them? Their reviews say the seeds germinate well, but I never trust reviews tbh I’d rather look for a personal recommendation. Thank you for this thread seriously as a NorCal homie with similar ph levels I really appreciate the depth you go in emphasizing the KISS! method of growing. (Keep it simple, stupid!) Cus I was really worried about the ph level. Honestly I’m fine buying spring water from dollar tree. It seems to do my plants better than straight tap water. I also messed with mixing some koi pond water into a gallon of spring water because I put some of the water in a spray bottle and misted my plants and they perked up like crazy. I think it was just cus of the insane heatwave that hit us here in the valley but still! I’m tryna keep it easy. I didn’t source my seeds from anywhere reputable. They just existed in a drawer in the garage with acronyms for ID. Right now I’ve got a couple of what I think is some sort of Indica dom but they’re struggling. I’ve been trying to come up with a good strat for my next attempt and I think you pretty much did all the heavy lifting for me. Man finding this thread has made me so happy

Update :

Plants received another feeding today - ( 6-8-4 ) dry fertilizer. 2 tablespoons each. Tap water .

The one in the front has a wide structure and setting up well. Minor defol on her too.

Pee S1 plant ( upper left ) has been topped . Lower right corner plant will be simple 1 gallon grow. It may be part of a “ seeding “ project.

Next watering will be a dilute kelp / water drench.

New one moved to flower.

Here is the results of that partial seeding project .

Chill Bomb x African Chill ( pollen ) . I got a pretty decent return off of 2 lower branches.

Even though the African chill plant ended up male ( trashed ) i figure why not do a simple seeding . I am unfortunately locked with all flowering tents at the moment and will not have any areas to start any of these just yet.

2 gallon plant ( KKP X Motor Breath ) plant.

I prefer 2 gallon over larger since i can still get respectable sizes and not waste a lot of space and medium .

I'm going to be trying out your method this run. I got some skunk #1 started. 4 out of 5 popped, so if more than 2 are female, I'll be using 3 gal containers. 1 or 2 females, and im gonna try it in an earthbox. I'm interested to see how this method works out.

you guys print this shit out..........listen to the buddha! I got some hash trees with fist size buds following this exact routine.

i just need a crash course in controlling worms, catters and infamous bud rots! those photos take forever especially landraces!

How you like the QB96?
With the reds as part of board makeup - it was a choice for me to DIY a rig with a overlap spead of 2 ft per QB96.

Plus they can be individually pushed to 200w each.
I have the QB225 rig which has around 225w but no dimmer ( unfortunately ) . I don’t remember if that reflector was available separately for the standard QB96 kit.
image.jpg

i originally was going to construct a 6 QB96 frame ( similar to old COB light ) layout ( 3 on each side ) but got offered Blackbird to test from HLG instead .

IMG_6853.jpeg

This QB96 rig is 320w with 24” light overlap ( plus UV lamp ) in middle. Simple aluminum rail construction.

I guess you can say i like these :bigjoint:

Hey bro, quick question, I started my seeds about 3 weeks ago, in ffhf. They're only 5 nodes, n but I'm starting to see lowers getting pale. Is it possible that these lil guys are depleting the soil already?

They look ready to transplant - HF seems a little mild in nutes compared to say FFOF. But if that’s what you only have on hand - give it a bump with a tablespoon or two of dry nutes ( dr. Earth / recipe 420 all purpose / etc. ) to give them a little extra to play with.

Looks good by the way.

Welp ….

Finally wrapped up the last of the african chill x chill bomb run - pretty good high but not a pretty grow.

Lots of bud flop at end was a nightmare- tried staking with dowels and twine. Just a head ache in last few weeks.

Anyhow- here is the next batch i started.

Greenhouse Wonder Pie
Forbidden Zittles

i popped the seeds in 2 shotglasses of simple bottled water until they sprouted a taproot. Then I carefully placed them in a mild charged Recipe 420 soil mix with a pinch of Recipe 420 General Purpose 6-8-4.

They are under the HLG Blackbird at the first dimmer setting.

I have to clean up the other tents to accommodate them or perhaps a few other ones i may pop.

TIME TO USE UP SOME SEED STASH

Why buy seeds if all i do is store them ?

Yea that was a few days ago. This is them now.....20241009_051043.jpg

I watered in some neptune's harvest on Sunday. It seems to have helped, but I'll know for sure by the weekend. I'm trying to avoid transplanting until I know which are the females, if any.
