Kamala did what all VP's do. She sat around waiting for Joe Rob to die and went to funerals of 2nd level world leaders. That was her job, and she did it well. It is true that she had trouble getting traction four years ago. But since Roe was overturned, she has found her footing. Not to mention two post dropout poles (as trumpf would truth) show her up by 2 and 4%. So trumpf and Joe Rob are the only two folks to poll lower than her.

Overturning Roe for the GOP is going to be the dog that caught the car. A solid 20-25% of voters thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. But 75-80% are against it. And every time it has been on the ballot, reproductive healthcare has won, even in deep red states. And it is going to be on the ballot in lots of states, so folks who don't think making poor women have babies they can't afford is a good idea are more likely to vote blue on the down ballot races. Most districts are jerrymandered to +5% but this might just wash the red right out of the house.

I hope we get a chance to see her debate trumpf. He says he is going to do it, but I will be surprised if he really does. She is sharp, he is not.

Just to be clear, I am a progressive, so on almost all things, Kamala doesn't really blow my skirt up, as she is a damn moderate. But anything is better than trumpf, so I am not going to dwell on all the things about her I don't like.

Yes. Putin is still killing white babies, so he is going to get lots of hate. He had killed brown babies for so long without any backlash, he thought folks didn't care about dead babies anymore. But as he found out, all of us (in the west) care about dead white babies, and more and more everyday are starting to care about brown dead babies. At least the ones in Gaza.

According to the U.S. Constitution, the vice president serves as the president of the Senate; she has no vote unless there is a 50-50 tie in that body. Since taking office in January 2021, Harris has cast 33 tie-breaking votes, the most of any Senate president in American history. Her immediate predecessor, former Vice President Mike Pence, cast 13 tie-breaking votes.

In March 2021, Harris provided the 51st vote in the Senate in favor of passing the American Rescue Plan, joining with Democratic senators in moving the bill forward, while Republican senators unanimously opposed it. Businesses also benefited from pandemic relief and, according to the White House, Michigan residents applied to start 288,000 new small businesses in 2021 and 2022. In the two years following the law’s passage, Michigan added 298,000 jobs. The unemployment rate in the state has gone from 6.5% in January 2021 to 4.1% in June of this year.

Harris’ vote was also pivotal in August 2022 to break the Senate tie over the Inflation Reduction Act. That legislation is the largest federal investment in clean energy in American history and also includes provisions designed to cut the cost of prescription drugs.

“Unfortunately, not a single Republican in Congress voted for the package. Not a single Republican voted to lower the cost of prescription drugs, reduce health insurance premiums, make investments to address the climate crisis, tackle inflation, or require the wealthiest corporations to pay their fair share,” Harris said in a statement following her vote.

The White House said that since passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, along with the CHIPS and Science Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Harris also supported, more than $28 billion in commitments for private sector investments in Michigan have been announced.

Harris has also provided tie-breaking votes to confirm federal judicial nominations submitted to the Senate by President Joe Biden. Those votes most recently led to the successful appointments of Judges Loren L. AliKhan, Natasha C. Merle, Margaret R. Guzman, and Araceli Martínez-Olguín.

The Biden-Harris administration has appointed more women and people of color to the federal judiciary than any administration in U.S. history.

Since their platforms are unpopular and their record is abysmal the next step for the GOP is to try to sue their way to the presidency.

Speaking of karma, Hunter Biden asked to have his case overturned based on Judge Cannon's ruling. I can't even begin to express how delighted it makes me to see equal justice proffered. I hope both cases are handled lawfully with due weight to precedence.
