Beautiful, I am so jealous. Here in southern AZ. you'd need an air conditioned green house to have a garden like that.
You wouldn't want to dig around in the dirt around here anyway. First of all it's caliche 2nd you'd probably get Valley fever.

Yea we got about couple months before we can throw in ground we got a friend's greenhouse for tomatoes and few other plants peppers rest from seeds and nursery for broccoli and eggplant. We use that landscaper fabric also so nice no weeding. Soaks up the sun being black. I've been eyeing seeds when I go to store something different like this popcorn and thinking about watermelon and his year. We do two rows of garlic and patches of pumpkins in upper area other side of property.

We all have our journeys/pilgramages/life, most of us carry weight to one degree or another. I hope you find peace and some joy along the way and that all of our fun and silliness can be the blessing for you it has been for me :hug:

I actually just listened to a podcast about the benefits of that. Just two minutes in sitting in that ice water does this chemical release from your body being shocked. Creates dopamine, among chemical for depression, healing. Just two minutes after a week will notice a lot of good things. Guy was doing it at the end of shower on cold for just one minute to get benefits

We are high desert here...so warmer than you'd think for CO/7100ft. I look out at pines/mountain scenery on the N facing hill in front of us but the hill behind us facing South is pinyon/some cactii/lots of alkaline dirt/rock. I've replaced all of the dirt in my garden with old pot dirt/compost (another topic...LOL) because the soil here is over 8ph and is mostly sand and rock. We also grow a lot of things in containers.....weed included.

me me me! i have six shishito pepper babies in with the weed. they love the LED lights, warmth, humidity...i actually need to up-pot them soon from the 4" pots. on the porch i have three varieties of onions, 3 types of cabbage, 3 types of broccoli, 2 brussel sprouts, and about 10 different lettuces. i'm trying to harden all of it off in the next couple of weeks so i can put everything out mid-march. i'm in zone 6b.

next week i'm starting tomatoes, flowers, eggplant, and all the herbs. those will take up the space on the porch until after memorial day, when we are *usually* safe w/r/t last frost.

my favorite things to grow are tomatoes, perpetual spinach (it's a chard that is super hardy, very prolific, and tastes just like spinach), garlic, and zinnias.

the rhubarb is already poking out. plum and apple trees are sending out blossoms, as is the honeyberry, hazelnuts, and elderberry. this weather pattern bullshit is a reckoning for all of us gardeners who will have to adjust what we can grow in the coming decades, i think. it was 70* yesterday, today i'm in a tank top because it's 68*. who needs to escape south for spring break anymore? you can just enjoy the hot weather wherever you are! :roll:

Our grows crazy have to use the hand trimmers like you would on boxwoods to cut back half way thru. Basil does terrible though in pots for some reason. Supposed to make tomatoes taste better if you plant one in-between tomatoes.
