Trump says he'll appeal DC trial date; legal experts say that's not possible
Donald Trump said on Monday he would appeal the scheduling of a March 2024 trial over his alleged efforts to subvert his 2020 election defeat, though legal experts said such a move was not possible before a verdict is reached in the case.

"I will APPEAL," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform. He did not say how or when the appeal would be made.

A trial court's scheduling decision is not a legitimate basis for an appeal prior to a verdict being reached, according to legal experts.

During the hearing on Monday during which the March 4 trial date was set, Trump's attorney, John Lauro, vowed to abide by the judge's scheduling decision despite being unhappy with it.

The planned trial in Washington, D.C., is one of four criminal prosecutions the former president faces as he mounts a campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

I could not see how to link his post so here goes nothing.

"So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great “Founders” did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

No more Constitution? Talk like this from a presidential candidate?

It's already for that. It's too late because you have already told us so. You seemed pretty confident a while ago. Are you losing confidence and now unwilling to make a statement of accountability if it turns out you were wrong?

Since you seem to be waffling now. I'll just put this out there with some gentle humor:

To everybody who felt Pops was targeting when them when he told us we had to give him money when it finally turns out that he was right in his prediction that Trump will not be found guilty and will not be sentenced to some form of incarceration. Make a note to let Pops know he was wrong.
Nobody's waffling, but I do love me some waffles.

I'm just iterating my stance, not telling anyone anything. We're just chatting, bro

I just posted a Steve Schmidt video that describes ya to a Tee, have a look and see if you agree, you are not alone and there are reasons for it.
Will watch later, I'm in office working this week

Ok, watched it. Definitely not me to a Tee; i really don't give a single shit why Trump is such a phenomenon. I don't care why my relatives lick his loafers. Trump is a criminal, the proof is there yet at EVERY SINGLE TURN, the Justice system is either dragging its feet or shrugging its shoulders over the whole thing.

I can see why you think Trump is untouchable. When, in the past, has somebody this high up in our government been indicted, much less found guilty of basically what can be called treason? Not even Nixon who was caught on tape trying to influence an election that he already had in the bag. Nobody was held accountable for the Iran-Contra scandal. So, it's reasonable if perhaps a bit cynical to think this will happen to Trump and his cronies.

When the Mar A Lago case first broke, I thought same as you. Regarding his attempt to overthrow our government, even though Trump committed acts of treason right in front of the camera, I wasn't sure at first if Trump was going to face accountability. My doubt grew during the first year when it seemed that nothing was going on in the DOJ. Also, I said it out loud in a post like you did on a different subject. I thought there was no way that Putin would invade Ukraine. It made no sense that he would do so and said so to others who didn't think it was a not matter of "if" but "when". When my naivete was exposed after Putin did what I thought was unimaginably stupid, a few people came around to post in good humor about my earlier statement. I wore it. I learned from it too. So I respect and encourage people to say what they believe out loud before the whole thing is over. It's a good test of how well one's understanding of the world matches up with reality. I respect you for taking an opposing stance and giving us your considered reason.

Getting back to Trump and where we are today. IMO, you are citing a belief that the powerful never face consequence in order to justify your statement. I wasn't sure at first if you were right, but I changed my mind after reviewing the facts, evidence and what the DOJ is doing. From what I've seen happening over the past year, I think the government is going to nail Trump on a wall of facts and evidence and convict the SOB. So, we'll see. You and I have two different viewpoints on the subject. We have both spoken openly about our views, made our predictions based upon them and only one of us can be right. The other will have to wear it when they are proven wrong. And that won't be a bad thing, because it will be a learning opportunity if that happens. For whoever turns out to be wrong.

Thank you for this. It is an excellent summation of an ambivalence much like my own.

During Meadows' special hearing today in Georgia, he made the shocking decision to testify. While on the stand, Meadows has been questioned extensively on Trump's infamous phone call to Georgia's Brad Raffensperger.

Karen Friedman Agnifilo from Meidas Touch Network put this move by Meadows as a Hail Mary, a reference to a desperate last second pass in football. Perfect.

Desperate is right! Improbable too. He needs a deal, or he will die in prison if he loses in federal court and doesn't get a deal. I'm for a deal for Mark, as long as he coughs up enough republican congress people and squeals his head off on them all. Mark was in a unique position to know just about everything, and everybody involved, he was the hub of a hub and spoke conspiracy.

Fucker is dirty. He needs to go to jail, at least for some time. It looks to me he's still dancing around cooperation, trying to do the least for the most benefit.
