TRUMP CONVICTED

No. The way things are ≠ the way you say they are.

My failure (and instances where other, more nuanced thinkers on this forum have failed at the same thing) at getting you to see that (and refine your edicts) is frustrating.
This is what you objected to and should does not seem like an edict but a probability. Ultimately it is up to the SCOTUS, if they will hear a case involving a primary process. I outlined the reasons they might not disqualify him from the primary, the nominee is not a public office, what basis in law would they use?

he should not be disqualified from running in the GOP primary

It seems to me based on recent opinions from federalist society members and other legal experts, that the question of the 14th amendment applying to Trump is central. We pretty well know what will happen when Trump runs for the presidency and files the papers to do so in the states. Nobody mentions whether this also applies to the primary process, parties existed when the 14th was framed in the 19th century, but no mention is made of them in the constitution as they did not yet exist when the original was written. We will find out by the end of this year if he can run in the primaries, because if they can republicans will challenge him for the nomination using the 14th to get rid of him before the primaries even begin.

The trials and crimes can't keep Trump from being POTUS, even once inside a state prison cell and federally convicted, but the 14th can and will, if he wins the GOP nomination or is allowed to run in it to begin with. There appears to be a dirth of legal opinion on whether Trump can run in the republican primaries, though it seems well established that the 14th disqualifies him from the presidential ballot.

Some people seem to forget about the 14th amendment and the federal DC J6 trial which is likely to incarcerate Trump before the GOP convention. I suppose all the drama and threat sells views, but Trump cannot run for president and would be kept off the ballot in the states by lawsuits or by the secretaries of state. So even if he can run in the primaries and win the GOP nomination, he will be disqualified as soon as he applies to run for federal office in the states, he won't appear on the ballot and can't be written in, according to expert legal opinion and recent precedent. Even if a magat secretary of state in a red state wanted him on the ballot, they would be sued under the 14th to disqualify him in the state. The SCOTUS would probably settle it in less than a week. In my mind the big question is can they sue to keep Trump off the primary ballot too, since the GOP nominee is not a federal office. If not, then he stands a very good chance of winning the nomination, even though by then most republicans should know he would be disqualified to run for POTUS.

Donald will be in the news, but there is no possibility of him becoming POTUS, the 14th amendment would insure a civil war (a real one) if he did. He would make Houdini look like a piker if he slipped out of prison and ya might as well burn the constitution if he either got out of going to prison or became president again. This isn't prophesy, the future is being constrained by the present facts and the 14th amendment is the most relevant fact of all. Another fact is his imminent conviction and incarceration, state and federally. The possibility of the idiots in the GOP nominating Trump in the face of these facts will mean the republicans concede the election in 24. They would be left high and dry on the eve of the election holding a big bag of shit as Trump goes to prison taking a bunch of republicans with him.

Sure, Georgia will take some time, it and the other trials will go on for years, right into the 2026 election cycle and there will be plenty of fodder for a second J6 committee to make new laws and plug loopholes. The GOP will be carrying the curse of Trump for years to come and not just with a poisoned base of lunatics vomiting up psycho candidates either.

This sets the stage for Trump's eventual disqualification they and other legal scholars are educating the public and local election officials and are giving them a legal basis to keep Trump off the ballot at the state level and it will act a guidance for judges and the SCOTUS to make the call. The academic article by the two federalist society legal scholars will be the foundation of lawsuits which will see Trump disqualified from the ballot in all states. Some of them are trying to get through to republican primary voters and will continue to do so during the primaries, if Trump is not disqualified from them too, but the republican base is largely fact free and delusional.

These two legal heavy weights and others will continue talking about this until Trump is disqualified or just goes away. If figure one or more of Trump's trial judges will mention it too, if he brings up his 2024 election campaign too much during his trial. The trial should in no way interfere with Trump's election campaign because he is disqualified to run anyway, and they could determine that with a ruling before he tries to get on the ballot or even runs in the primary.

When the indictments drop the dealing begins, Mark does not want to go to prison and there is only one way out of dying in one, RAT EVERYBODY OUT! When they make a deal with the feds they have to confess and plead guilty to the crimes they choose to charge them with, and they must tell them of any other crimes by others that they have knowledge of. I think Mark knows enough to put congress people and senators in prison, he knows where all the bodies are buried and who requested a pardon and why. If anybody can get a sweet deal out of this fiasco it is Mark, but he would have to cough up congressional heads and others to get one. His lawyer is a former DOJ prosecutor, so if anybody can cut a deal for him it will be this guy.

A DC federal judge thinks Trump is a flight risk, I'm sure he is and if he could just shake the SS detail around him, he might try to fly away. Now that Trump is under federal indictment the SS will no longer let him leave the country and are watching for him to make a desperate run for Dubai. Donald will be under their control if a federal judge will order them, and I think they will before this is over, either that or they will be guarding him in a cell somewhere.

Donald Trump posts that he's fighting "7" cases? Are more state indictments on the way?

73,372 views Aug 20, 2023 #TeamJustice
We all know that Donald Trump is being prosecuted in four criminal cases. So it's curious that Trump just posted that he's fighting "7 cases (that are) all about election interference."

Of course, the only one who interfered in an election is Donald Trump and his co-conspirators, many of whom are now indicted in a RICO case in Georgia. But Donald Trump's numbers don't really add up. Unless he has been informed that he's about to be indicted in multiple states for the very same fake elector scheme for which he stands indicted in Georgia. Indeed, just one recent headline poses the question, ""Will Arizona be the next state to indict president Donald Trump?"

This video discusses why Trump should soon find himself indicted in other state where he and his co-conspirators trial to steal the 2020 presidential election.

2 in 3 GOP Iowa caucusgoers say Trump hasn’t committed serious crimes: poll
Roughly two-thirds of likely Republican Iowa caucusgoers said in a new poll that former President Trump has not committed serious crimes, despite multiple indictments.

The NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll released Monday found that 65 percent of likely GOP Iowa caucusgoers said that the former president has not committed serious crimes. Another 26 percent said that he has, while 9 percent said they are not sure.

The poll results come on the heels of Trump’s fourth indictment last week, when he was charged with crimes related to his and his allies’ efforts to overturn the election in Georgia. The former president is also facing two sets of federal charges and a separate indictment in New York.

The indictments appear to be boosting the former president in the polls. The new survey found that Trump’s lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis grew among likely Republican Iowa caucusgoers after the former president’s latest indictment in Georgia on Aug. 14.

According to polling between Aug. 13-14, Trump’s lead over DeSantis was 18 points. His lead increased to 25 points in the interviews conducted after the indictment between Aug. 15-17.

The poll ultimately found that 42 percent of likely Republican caucus attendees listed Trump as their first choice, giving the former president a 23-point lead over DeSantis, who was picked by 19 percent.

The new poll was conducted Aug. 13-17 among 406 Iowa voters likely to attend the 2024 Republican caucus and has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.

Most in Iowa GOP poll say minds aren’t made up on 2024 candidate
More than half of likely Iowa Republican caucus attendees said they have not made up their minds on a 2024 candidate, a new poll found.

Fifty-two percent of likely GOP caucusgoers in Iowa said that they have yet to make up their mind on whom to support and that they could be convinced to support another candidate, according to the NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll released early Monday.

The results come as many GOP presidential hopefuls have flocked to the state to make their case to Iowa voters, with many hoping to upend former President Trump’s comfortable lead in the polls. They also come ahead of the first 2024 Republican primary debate on Wednesday, which Trump said he is not attending largely due to his large lead in the polls.

The new poll found that 42 percent of likely Republican caucus attendees in Iowa listed Trump as their first choice, giving the former president a 23-point lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was picked by 19 percent. No other candidate received more than 10 percent of the vote.

Republican Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.) received 9 percent support in the new survey, followed by former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence, who each received 6 percent. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie received 5 percent of support, conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy received 4 percent, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum received 2 percent and former Rep. Will Hurd received 1 percent.

The new poll was conducted between Aug. 13-17 among 406 Iowa voters likely to attend the 2024 Republican caucus and has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.

What part of no appointments necessary don't they understand? They say defendants can be held in the jail there for up to 12 hours while being processed for arraignment, including a physical examination, Donald is under arrest after all and there is a warrant out for him. Will he be treated any differently than the rest of the defendants accused of the same crime?

Could this STOP TRUMP in 2024?!

The 14th Amendment disqualifies from office public officials who "engaged in insurrection." Prominent law professors argue that this automatically applies to Trump as he leads the polls among Republican candidates in his campaign for 2024.
